PET CO going out of business?
My uncle works for a graphic design company (they make signs, bumper stickers, those support ribbon magnets, etc...). And he told me today that they were printing signs for PETCO's going out of business sales, they're being shipped all over the country. Has any one else heard about this?

If you feed f/t you can get quality feeders on line, or Google small pet store nearest you. I'm glad because of obvious reasons as for feeders I only go to small (well cared for) pet stores or herp and supply stores; which I highly recommend for high quality (gut loaded) cheap feeders.

I highly doubt it. They are a multi million dollar business.

We have a rather good/clean Petco near us, I would be sad if they went out of business. Ours keep the animals in good shape. Plenty of hide, fake plants, water. We were even there once at feeding time. They took the snakes to the back of course, but put out fresh food for the few baby iguanas they had and some fresh food for the tortoises.

If Petco, one of the largest pet store chains in the US were going out of business, it would be on the news. I can understand maybe some locations are not doing well and closing those locations, but not the entire company without some news story about it.

That's the first thing I thought so I figured I'd ask if any one else has heard any thing.

But online we must buy in bulks, and not only is it somewhat un-affordable, it is also a bad idea, at least for me, since I doubt my BP will be eating the same size all the time. I mean 100xmice is 1 mouse for 100 weeks. Thats way too much. And other than petco i don't know of any other pet stores around Santa Barbara or back home where my parents live - LA.

Have you looked in the yellow pages for mom and pop type pet stores?

Additionally, since Petco has their name on a Major League Baseball stadium (San Diego Padres), I doubt they're going out of business.

They just built a brand-new PetCo near my college. Maybe they're building new stores and closing down their less profitable ones?

There's a PetCo in the town NERD is in--I don't know how they thought they could compete with our Kara :D Maybe that one's closing!

I have not heard of this. Sadly, the Petco closest to me, in Buffalo, is better in conditions than most of the smaller stores (not all.)
