Mine doesn't act any different than any other ball I own.

As for pics I'm glad you asked.

so generally they have a clean belly... i know that spiders are great eaters, and i know that some of them do the wobble... i was just wondering if there is anything distinguishing about the mojave morph other than its beauty.

Mojo's can be very different. Some can be very olive and chocolate, some can even look like lessers. the clean super clean belly is a good sign. Most I have seen have faded sides into the belly

Agree, with everything except the more yellow the better. Just personal preference really. And not sure about anyone elses but mine has the pissiest attitude of anyone i have. But this also leads to a huge appetite. So guess take what you can get. Just find one you like, and the clearer the belly the better!

Here's my guy - he's a blusher. He's very aggressive, though, and he's scared of his food. He hasn't taken a meal yet that wasn't assisted.

Still, i have high hopes for the little guy. He's a pretty one.

Hasnt taken a meal that wasnt assisted?? Interested to hear what you mean by that comment... Im guess you helping is shoving the rat in the snakes mouth and forcing it to eat... Yea def NOT a good idea and NOT the way to get your snake to eat consistantly

There is a difference between force feeding and assist feeding. Sometimes baby pythons don't begin feeding on their own and after one or couple of assist feeds their metabolism and feeding respose kicks on on they are fine. I had one hatchling this year that needed one assist feed, sometimes they need a few. Now this girl is a chow hound and is feeding fine. It's done all the time after many attempts to get hatchlings started.

I tried to start him normally using every trick in the book. Eventually it was clear that if i didn't get a meal into him, he'd be on a pinky pump within a few weeks and at high risk for... well... death.

He still isn't doing it on his own, but at least we're keeping an okay weight, and he doesn't look like an old leather sandbag anymore.

I'm still working with him. Assist-feeding is a pain in the keester and a huge stress on everyone involved. I look forward to not having to do it anymore.

Its surprising that some snakes wont take live prey either... Some of mine will refuse frozen for whatever but ive never had one refuse a live rat/mouse... Its strange some of mine will eat frozen for months... then refuse ... i feed em a live one and then next week they take frozen?? Dunno how to explain it

My mojo will eat 1 of what ever I offer. If I offer mice she eats 1 mouse if I offer small rats. she eats 1. .so frustrating.

Assist feeding involves taking a prekilled rodent(of appropiate size) and opening the snakes mouth with it(head) and putting it in the mouth of the snake until about the rodents ears(entire head) then putting the snake down(I like to do it right in there own tub) and letting the snakes swallowing reflex to finish the job. Usually thats all you need to do with hatchlings. Some may spit it out but if it is far enough in there their teeth will hold it in and when they relax a little they will begin to swallow it. Force feeding is alot more stressful where you actually push the rodent (or pinky pump) all the way down into the stomach, one usually needs to push the meal down once inside to reach the stomach. Force feeding is a last ditch effort and is done on wild caught snakes sometimes or extremely undernourished, Force feeding can end with regurgitation, not good for the snake.

Assist feeding is much less obtrusive/stressful to the snake and helps initiate natural feeding response.
