    BP morph ID please?
The breeder said she’s a GHI HRA spotnose. Reddit says she’s just a normal. My question, did I pay $500 for a normal advertised as a fancy morph? I was looking forward to breeding her with another GHI to maybe get a super.

The link is all pictures of her, the very last one is the one that was posted on morphmarket.
    Thank you for any clarification.

Definetly not a normal in my opinion.

Who was the breeder you bought from, surely you would trust them more than a random person on reddit?
Definitely not a normal. I don't know how hra interacts with ghi but it definitely looks like ghi is there and spotnose too.

I'm not seeing GHI or HRA. Not familiar enough with spotnose to say if that might be present. Doesn't quite look like a normal though, either.

KDF Reptiles LLC. Breeder in Texas. I do trust the breeder but after looking at other BPs with GHI I was questioning it.

Also, what is the distinct GHI identifier? And spotnose? Still learning how to ID morphs but there’s not a whole lot of help online in learning the characteristics.

Does it look like this: http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...thic-spotnose/

Also, I would get a better picture with natural light and send it to breeders (on instagram) and get their opinion

The stripe on her back is more solid, and her colors aren’t as bright as that. She has less patterns and her head mostly just has the stripes on each side of her head. I’ll try sending it to a breeder to confirm. Thanks!

Here is a picture of my ghi mystic. 2 things in common with your snake, along the back stripe is these little curly bits, this is a pretty common characteristic of a ghi interaction. The other is the darkness of the snake overall.
For your snake, assuming hra is present, as something else has to be...Hra, is a darkish gene but would not produce the darkening that you have in your snake without ghi present.
Spotnose is a tricky gene to identify, and even moreso because its obviousness is based off the "quality" of the line or the parents. I highly suggest watching some youtube vids on spotnose because they will explain tons better than me. In my mind, spotnose has a POP of lightness and color enhancing to it. Spotnose also causes blacks to be more solid. It also contributes to pattern craziness...like i said watch some vids on it lol.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...622aa12287.jpg

I looked up the breeders fb page, and that particular snake you have came from a pairing that was spotnose ghi to spotnose hra. Without a doubt your snake has spotnose in it. They even have pictures of the full clutch after hatching ect.
I see no reason to doubt the morphs they listed for your snake.

I did not even think to do that! You’re amazing!
Thank you so much, very relieved to know when I breed in a couple years I have the possibility of getting a super GHI. ;)

Kevin is a good dude and one I would not hesitate to do business with. Also, if you'll look at the pics you provided you'll notice that at the back of the head right before the stripe begins on the neck there is a little light colored "dash" running length wise. All of the Spotnose GHI's I've hatched or seen as well as combo's like spotnose lesser ghi have that marking.

Thank you! I wasn’t questioning him to begin with. He really seemed like he knew his stuff when I bought from him. After posting a picture on reddit and few people pointed out she looked like a normal, I just had to make sure. Shame on me for listening to people on reddit. Lol

Just a point of clarification, that pairing does not guarantee "without a doubt" that the animal is a Spotnose. There is, for any given offspring, a 1:4 chance of it not having the Spotnose gene.

My mistake, you are indeed correct. Should have double checked myself before saying so.
