Trust me, you can never have just one. I'm getting back into snakes after quite the break and my collection just surpassed 13 BPs, and it's still growing.

BTW, I love that last pic, the way the light catches just his eye through the leaves is awesome! He's a good looking boy, and I bet your eventual banana will be too! Lol.

I don’t think I even want one now. I like the ultramel or candy better.

Hence the "addiction" we long-time keepers know all about. Just remember that each one is a living, breathing creature with needs & expenses, and that there
will probably ALWAYS be another color/version (morph) around the corner that you'll crave...or another species. It's human nature: colors & designs resonate
& appeal to our emotions, and then we've gotta have it, lol. ;)

Do snakes normally shed in two parts or could he have shed 2 times?

It's preferable that they shed all in one piece, but multiple pieces can and will happen. Next time you see his belly getting pink or his eyes get cloudy, before he sheds bump your humidity up to 70% or so and it should all shed in one clean piece.

At least that's the idea, I have a female pastave bee that still has not had a clean one piece shed with me yet. I bump humidity and make sure she's got everything she needs, still shreds her shed every time, never has any stuck, just sheds it in pieces.:confusd: Oh well, there's always next time.

I'd just look her over really well and make sure she got it all off and there isn't any shed stuck on her body anywhere, and double check to make sure her eye caps shed as well.

I never noticed the hazy eyes or pink stomach and I look at him every day lol. I didn’t know he shed until I picked up his warm hide and there it was.

Don’t feel too bad about missing it....I’ve missed each of my BEL’s sheds as well. Button doesn’t really pink up either, and the blue eyes make it hard to see the blue phase.

To be honest I think many of us struggle to notice when Albinos / white snakes go into shed mode ..

For both of the ball pythons in my house, They will sometimes do the blue eye phase very quickly. For example my daughter's python, I picked up on it but by the next day it was gone. She missed it and was surprised when it shed. A more reliable indicator is the pink belly phase. We didn't notice the pink belly phase at 1st, because we were new owners, that now we know it when we see it.

I can see why it's easy to mess on albinoes though, my albino Rat snake is already pink all the time So for her the only indicator is blue eyes.

Exactly! He’s always got a little pink on him so it’s hard to tell. If he ever has any problems I will just add a humid hide.

Snakes are sneaky! ;) It really takes some practice to notice albinos clouding up, missed some myself, way back when I was newer at this & had albino king snakes.

A very subtle sign also when the edge of their scales have an extra outline you can barely see, but personally I rely most on a penlight flashlight across the arc of their
eye in a dark room...the haze shows up very well.

Should’ve gotten something easier lol. I’ll have to try the flashlight trick sometime thanks!

Update: I haven’t been on in a while, but I was looking at these old pictures today and decided I would update y’all. He has gotten huge!

I weighed him today and he’s 1466. He turned 1 in September. Is that large for a male at his age? Also, he’s not overweight is he?

I think I might attempt to sex him tonight. One of my friends has several ball pythons and he said that’s pretty big for even females at that age. So I wonder if he is even a male:
