Believe me, I know the feeling! Fun to watch snakes eat, but so frustrating when they won't! Ya both did good!

Second meal was a success!!! Even tho I had taken a little bit longer for him to strike. But he got it tho. I dont believe I will ever get use to him striking. It scares me ever single time. Lol. But somehow we get through it. I dont get accidentally bitten and he gets his meal on his first strike. Win win

I do hope you're using tongs* to feed him? That way your hands stay safely out of his reach if he misses or makes a mistake -sometimes our hand is warmer than
    their prey item, just saying...;)

*tongs- can be 12" tweezer-type made for this, or 12-18" hemostats, or even blunt-nosed BBQ-kitchen tongs. Feeding bites are NOT fun, best to avoid, also for your
snake who may also be put off feeding after a mishap. (some snakes seem to lose some of their "confidence" if they miss or hit the wrong thing)
