IBD chance for newborn ball python that fell from 6 ft

It just happened. Should i put him in quarantine?

Not understanding your question, really...do you have other snakes? If so, ANY new snake should be in quarantine.

Snakes that fall from 6' could EASILY have internal injuries, that have NOTHING to do with IBD & which may need prompt medical treatment to survive.

While IBD can manifest with a lack of coordination & lack of muscle control, many snakes can fall without having IBD. WHY was your snake 6' off the ground
in the first place??? Poor snake, I hope he's alright...:(

Your snake is not going to pick up a viral disease by falling six feet. I would monitor him for signs of injury over the next few days.

Thank you very much for a legible answer! The reason for my question is that I read a few articles that this disease can be caused by Falling

I was being charitable when I said I didn't understand your question...what I meant was that it was incoherent & your post lacked information.

I have plenty of experience and I DID answer your question, with what limited info you provided. While "physically" he may seem "fine" to you, that may NOT be
the case...a snake that tries to bite is (a) perfectly normal & defending himself by instinct, but may also be (b) injured & in PAIN from the fall, especially if he wasn't
biting before.

If you are "worried about...the unseen" you should be taking him to a proper herp vet, because this is a forum, where we can only try to help diagnose but in any
case cannot TREAT your snake, and we only have the info you provide, not even SEEING the snake, much less in REAL life.

IBD is NOT caused by falling...falling "may" be caused by IBD. Big difference.

Thanks. I do not know what other info should be provided. I will take to vet next week snake just fell. Doubt IBD can be diagnozed same day. My vet will be available next week only. Thus the question. Also running to the vet every question might as well sell your house. For this reason the forum exists with kind people

WHY do you suspect this "newborn" snake might have IBD? Do you have other snakes? Where did you get this one? (& didn't you just hatch out some BPs?)

Have your snakes been exposed to snakes NOT IN your household? As I said, your initial post did not make sense, as falling does NOT cause IBD...it can be a
symptom but it's NOT the only reason snakes fall. A newborn snake may be weak for many reasons & should never be 6' off the ground in any event; snakes
that thrive in captivity (where our care makes up for any inherent weakness or "slow start") may not have survived in the wild, but it doesn't mean they cannot
be completely healthy pets if shown some "TLC". Falling 6' sure didn't help this one.

IBD is NOT common, nor is it easy to diagnose.
