    Need help verifying this morph!!
Hey Everyone!! I'm new to this forum and I'm in need of some help!! My son and I have a decent BP collection of 8 BP's. A new one we recently picked up was said to be a Lesser Harlequin and from what I see it seems to match the description but I'm still unsure. I have posted a pic so please help me confirm this as any input would be great!!

If you would have stuck to your original thread you created you would have seen another user added a link that shows how to post pics. Im glad you found the correct section for the thread but you should stick to one.

There you go. Third time is the charm. But I am not familiar with the harlequin gene. It does look like it from pictures I have seen though.

A lesser mojave is a BEL... do you already have a BEL?

That is not a lesser mojave. Lesser mojaves are pure white with blue eyes.

    http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/lesser-mojave/

what you have is a plain mojave...

It is called the BEL complex. BEL means Blue Eyed Leucistic. An all white snake with blue eyes with very small differences. In the BEL complex is :

    Butter
    Mojave
    Russo Het Leucistic
    Phantom
    Mystic
    Lesser Platinum
    Mocha
    Special
    Daddy Gene

Mix any of these or put the same together and you get a BEL.

Your Lesser Harlequin and Mojave definitely can make a BEL but you do not have one currently.

Looks like a regular lesser to me. Harlequin Lessers have a stripe that runs down their back, like most harlequin morphs do.

Oh ok that's good to know thanks! At least I know I have a chance at a bell still lol . We are getting ready to breed for the first time this year and I'm still getting used to the genetics understanding lol. I appreciate your help and input. Here is another one I will be working on breeding this year as well .http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...dde17fb3a3.jpg

could be, this is one of those morphs that it can be hard to tell sometimes. what did the seller tell you it was and how well do you trust them? If it is, it's not a great example, what do the sides and belly look like?

How big are these animals? Have your done your due diligence on reading about breeding? If i were you i would hold back a bit and do tons more research. Not to knock you but if you don't even know the morph you are dealing with or what it can produce how are you planning to breed? How do you plan on identifying any offspring? Are you prepared to take care of eggs and baby snakes? Maybe it was just how i read your posts but it does not seem that you are informed enough to responsibly go into breeding. Sorry if i am wrong but just my two cents.

I have done a lot of research and have everything prepared I purchased and incubator this year as well as my hatchling rack. I have been doing lots of research on how to prep my snakes to be ready for breeding as well as. My males that are ready to breed this year are well above 800 grams and my females will be about a year and a half old by mid summer this year and they are already in the 1200 to 1300 gram range so they will be bigger by mid summer. It definitely is a lot to take in but I do make sure all my research is done properly. And the morph thing I'm still learning some about but with thousands of morphs I'm sure there will always be new stuff to learn there lol. But thanks for your input I definitely appreciate it.

Re: Need Help Verifying this morph please!!
The seller is a breeder himself and also runs his own exotic pet store. And I have herd some of them have a stripe that runs down there entire back and some that it's just a small portion with patterning that looks as such as a skeleton key hole. I see both in this and that is why I'm having such a hard time being sure of it lol because I thought it just looks like a lesser as well.

Just making sure man. Don't want anyone to have any trouble. I like people to point out potential issues for me no matter how it sounds so i do it for others too :). Rather sound like a jerk trying to help than being a jerk and letting a potential issue go unmentioned. Good luck with your breeding projects!! :gj:

Thanks we are super excited and can't wait to see what we produce. It definitely is a lot to learn but if you follow instructions the out come should great and I think everyone should do a large amount of research before doing this kind of stuff.

i don t see any harley influence on your lesser. I feel like before breeding you should aware yourself about what it involve: incubation, individual housing for the hatchlings, feeding them. I guess the pet store might help you to sell them but make sure about it. For the Harley gene , i would ask the parents pictures because that morph reduce the pattern and ussually show a long stripe on the back.
