Hopefully that friend doesn't get more snakes. That poor guy is in horrible condition! Does he have a stuck shed on top of everything?

Nice job on the rescue and recovery front mate. How is his temperament at this stage? :gj: Make sure you get a good baseline weight on him.

Well since he hasn't been fed in a while when ever he hears something around his tub he's looking for what's coming in.. poor guy. I've fed him a mice a day for 4 days straight this past weekend fed him a rat pup. Just waiting for him to poop. So that I can feed him again.

You gotta start dropping those feedings off. That is power feeding levels. Which can be detrimental eventually. Maybe every 4 days, an appropriately sized feeder. And you don't gotta wait for him to poop to feed  They'll do it when they're ready. Some go like once a month.

You don't need to feed him daily, but you don't need to wait for him to poop to feed him either.

Pick a schedule. Every 5 days or every 7 days, and just feed him on that schedule. You feed him consistently, he'll gain weight and get healthy.

It's just that since he hasn't been fed in over 3 months. He told me he was throwing up what he was eating so I gave him 1 small mice he kept it down. Didn't wanna over do it. But now just feeding him every Saturday.

For future reference, like with a starving person, too much too fast can kill them. Just be careful mate :snake:

He's a beautiful snake, under the neglect. :( Gorgeous blushing... Pastel, maybe?

Either way, good on you for taking him in and nursing him back to health. Would love to see some updated pictures once he's in better shape!

You actually trust this jerk not to put up a fight on getting it back?
I would have dropped him as a friend, and if he ever asked, I would have told him it died.

I guess I'm just old and jaded.

Your friend obviously wasn't caring for him very well, and I understand you wanting to get him back up to weight, but feeding him every day is no good either. Hopefully you get lined out on how to properly care for the snake yourself, and there are a lot of knowledgeable people here who will help you :D

Just seen ur message has your snake eaten yet.. ball pythons are finicky eaters.. I had a 2 yrs old ball python stopped feeding I had to make her a hide box to make her feel comfortable. Didn't bother her for a week before I fed her. But she only took a large mouse. She did not want a rat.

Yea he still hasn't eating and I have tryed everything from small rats asf and mice of all sizes I was thinking it may have been because of the breeding season but he should have gone back on food if that was the case but I'm going to try your hide box idea and he is always left alone as I'm trying not to stress him out anymore then he maybe
