    First meal
Got little guy about a week ago. He was shipped to me on his normal feeding day and is one feisty little baby. Took down his food without hesitation like a champ. (Didn't have anything else to put him in for feeding but this little box. He did seem mind lol.)

Yeah he's a super cinnamon and such a gorgeous thing. I was so excited to get him. A huge sucker for Cinnamons in general.

He's a nippy little brat though should of figured he'd be a good eater. Can't wait till he settles down.

Nice looking little guy! I'm usually not a fan of dark snakes, but there's just something about that look on his face that's winning me over. :D

Just a heads-up for you in the future. Unless you have a specific need to, there's really no reason to feed him outside of his normal home. Save yourself a little time and him a little stress from the move back and forth. :gj:

He kind of reminds me of those gummy candies that have the color on top and stark white on the bottom. And I have been debating on weather or not to feed him in his set up or not. Especially since he's already so nippy and I've heard horror stories about them swallowing their substrate. I figured for his first meal I'd try pulling him out and he didn't hesitate to strike and eat. Even though it was a super pathetic stike. Very clumsy, lazy and adorable. When I had my Boas I always fed in tank, I only had one that would have a food response when I'd put my hand in but only on feeding day. Lol

Sounds like you've got it under control. Most of the stories about swallowing substrate are just that - stories. Thousands of BPs are fed in their enclosure every single day without issue. The putting your hand in on feeding day and trying to avoid getting nailed is a good argument for feeding in their own enclosure too.

At the moment I pretty much get nailed by putting my hand in regardless. He's got spunk. I've been told he'll grow out of it. He's my first ball so the transition is interesting. My baby boas were so calm when I first got them. I'm pretty good about Making sure their F/T food is dry anyways so hopefully substrate shouldn't stick. I will give feeding in his enclosure a go.

Yeah - nippy is pretty much par for the course for the little ones. Like you said (and found out) - they sure make for good feeders! Once they figure out everything isn't out to get them they tend to chill and turn into the gorgeous pet rocks we all know and love so much. :D

That's kind of what drew me to them was that laid back pet rock temperament. Super excited to see how this guy turns out, I'm in love with his inquisitive personality he has thus far.
