    Eating post ovulation?
I had a female shed and start glowing about 2 months ago. She ovulated on May 9 last year. I didn't catch her in ovy but she is pretty fat right now. She is eating small meals every 5 days still.

My question is this - what % of the time, in your experience, does a female keep accepting meals after ovulation? I am worried she has reabsorbed but she is pretty big and I keep catching her laying on her side, belly up, etc.

My females stop eating a couple weeks before ovulation and never show interest in eating after that.

On the upside, she is very fat right now... so perhaps the ovulation is yet to come! We are only 10 days past last year's date and we had a particularly cool winter/spring.

    Crossing my fingers.

Most people rarely offer food after an ovy...

I have had a few eat after an ovy over the years...Most were girls that were being picky eaters while growing follicles, which is why I offered food after an ovy in the first place...

My girls, too, have stopped eating a few weeks to a month before they ovulate. The ones that have a pre-ovy shed usually refuse immediately following the shed, the (so far) one girl who hasn't had a pre-ovy shed still started refusing around the same time.

I had one girl eat all the way through, didn't turn down a meal so I kept feeding her and found eggs one day!

I am hoping for this or that she hasn't ovulated yet. She is FAT but not with a distinct swell like an ovy, more like she is gravid. Thanks for giving me hope!

Going through the same thing with my enchi girl. Showed all the progression signs and all of her behavior was spot on. Now she is 47 days after a what i believed to be a pre lay shed, and eating, I'm really confused. Just gotta wait it out I guess.

While the majority of my females will not eat after ovy, I have had a few exceptions that have.

She stopped glowing and is going into shed again for the third time in 3 months. At 2500g it seems likely to me these are breeding related sheds and not growth related. I feel pretty good about this!

Most of our females seem to quit eating shortly before ovulation, but I have had a few keep eating the entire time they were gravid. One female in particular had me completely fooled. I missed her ovy, and she was pounding food so aggressively that I was sure she wasn't gravid. Opened her tub one day to find eggs....

I'm like 80% sure this is what's happening to me right now. Works for me - she'll be up to weight for next year even sooner!
