In my tanks I use a combination of EcoEarth and Cypress Mulch. In my tubs, I use either Cypress Mulch or Orchid Bark (AKA Repti-Bark). My humidity is always where it should be since I stopped using Aspen (amazing the difference it made).

I use unprinted packing paper from office depot. $20 for 140 sheets and the sheets can be cut in half to fit my tubs.

Using this combo I'm lucky enough to maintain 60% humidity.

I use Eco-Earth. Mainly for humidity reasons.

    PROS:
Easy to see if it's soiled
    Easy to change
    No dust
No chance of ingestion during feeding
Can buy it pre-cut to your tub size

    CONS:
Not pretty enough for some keepers
Can't be used to hold humidity
