Need help not sure if my snakes are locked and breeding or just like each other
Hey I am wondering if someone could help me determine if my snakes are locked together and if this is a good lock or if they are just flirting and cuddling lol I have been doing some reading and I think they must be locked and breeding right now. Check out the pictures and let me know.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/2edynyvy.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/aga2ajud.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/15/5e8ynaba.jpg

Looks more like one is dominating the other. Doesn't look like breeding activity to me.

Is that ok or a bad thing?? They don't seem like they are unhappy with each other, the female was only put in the tank with the male about 5 to 8 hours ago, and they were drinking out of the same water dish and hiding out in their separate hides and then I came back and found them curled up with each other

Oh ok well that's kinda sucks I was excited at the thought of them breeding, ok anything I can do to stop the fighting for this one spot in the tank

Should I separate them by putting them in their own tanks??

Yes. There is always later to try again.
One thing you will find is that breeding ball pythons, while not difficult, does require tons of patience.

The female is 3 years old and the male is 5 years old, and I am pretty sure that the male is a male, the female was check already the male hasn't, but the tails are different from each other, the male had a short stubby tail where the female has a skinny and longer tail I could possible be wrong about the male, but from what I read I am pretty sure he is a male

They aren't "flirting" and snakes don't "cuddle" with eachother. One is trying to show dominance over the other and get the best spot. You need to house them in seperate enclosures. And telling Sex by looking at their tails your going to be wrong 98% of the time and the other 2% is just dumb luck. While that usually works with corns it does not apply here I've had both male and females with both long and short stubby tails. Read up on the care sheets and how to care for your snakes. Especially before you try and breed them. You need to learn the right way to care for them and I dare to ask how would you care for eggs when you are not sure about general information regarding the actual snakes?

You're generally correct of course, but it would be incredibly dumb luck to be wrong 98% of the time when you've got a 50/50 shot of being right, haha.

Haha you get the point. And what do they say? When there are two choices It's 50/50 but 90% of the time people choose wrong.

I am not completely read up nor do I have all the stuff for incubating the eggs I was just worried if they were as I would need to get everything I needed for the eggs and I know they take 2 to 3 months before they lay their eggs

Ok so at first it seems like you're trying to breed them.

With this is seems like you were trying to house them together and were worried they were breeding??
You shouldn't be trying to breed animals when you haven't read up on what you're doing, when you don't have the proper setup or knowledge for what to take of the eggs should you manage to get them, and when you don't have future housing for the 2-10 or more babies you could get if it happened.
