What should I breed to my lesser female?

I have a male bumble bee already that I plan on breeding to her this year. I'm looking to see what to breed her to next year? Of the bel's which cross do u think looks best? What's the best morph I can make with her and what morph is needed to produce it? Crystals, potions, what else? Thanks!

It really all depends on budget.

For single morph males, I'd choose another lesser for BELS, an enchi or a cinnamon.

If I were you however, I'd pick up another female instead of another male. :gj:

The cleanest is probably Lesser x Lesser, but there are some known genetic issues with that pairing, so many go with Mojave x Lesser to end up with a clean BEL without the genetic concerns.

If you're just talking about adding one gene, Enchi or Fire would give you nice results with your Lesser. Those two would be at the top of my list for an additional male.

Yes, you could make Lesser Crystals (Special x Lesser), but you can't make Mystic Postions with your current female - they come from a Mojave x Mystic pairing. If you pick up a Mystic male, you'll end up with more BELs when paired with your Lesser.

Throw her in with another lesser. They seem to have the purest white out of the BlueEL

i would avoid producing:

- super lesser
- super butter
- lesser butter (the combined super)

because these often are blind or become blind. These combinations have a genetic eye issue.

There are so many ways to make BELs that i dont think its too much to ask to avoid these 3 possibilities. Lesser or Butter with nearly any other gene in the BEL gene complex will give high white BELs. How about mocha? Or het russo leucistic? Mystic/phantom?

And if you want the perfect white, the most perfect white is piebald white, and you get an all-white piebald by combining lesser or butter with piebald.

By limiting yourself to one copy of lesser/butter per snake you can avoid all issues and can still do what you want. And the non-white BELs, like mystic potion, purple passion, enchi mystic potion, leche, they really look nice and are in demand. Or just use the russo gene, the super russo is a white BEL without the issues associated to lesser/butter.

I do have a pastel female also, I do want a third female also but I think I want to go recessive with my next girl.

In that case, decide what recessive gene that is. Then, get a male combo het recessive that will go well with the lesser and recessive females.

That's kinda what I'm most curious about. What would go good with her to make super cool babies? Beyond the bels of course. I like the idea of a fire, but what's other ones that make sweet combos?

Your budget is a huge part of the puzzle..
I'd recommend, if you like the fire gene, to go with an axanthic fire, an albino fire, or even a ghost fire. I'd choose the axanthic as my recessive...

Others that go great with lesser and pastel could be the Spark (having made some myself, they're awesome, but I'm biased ;)), Yellowbelly, Mystic, Woma (not meaning Hidden Gene Woma), Calico...and probably 50 others.

Anyway, look into whichever recessive you like, and try to find a male that fits.

I really like the clown recessive or my second would be the infamous pied. Budget I'm not too worried about, I'll save up or see if I can work out a payment plan. Clowns are still fairly expensive so I'll prolly have to take the risky het-clown route..
