    Funny Story
So I was moving several pieces of sheet metal over a week span and I had just scratched a few days earlier well this one piece was heavier then normal so I went to toss it over my shoulder, only I tossed it into my shoulder. I managed to finally get the bleeding to stop(cayenne pepper) then I cleaned it with alcohol and soap and stuff. Well after that I'm like yea, this probably needs stitches and I'm not going pay $50 to an emergency room. With that in mind I went and bought gorilla glue and I held the gash closed and super glued it closed. Now I always look at it and think it's funny. Hopefully you all do too.

Super glue and surgical glue aren't very different, so it should work if it holds. Hope you're up to date on your tetanus shots! :-P

At least it was a clean cut, so it should heal well.

Is that what is costs in the USA for stitches, $50.00? It's free here http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...da-flag-68.gif

Yeah, but by the time you got to the front of the line it would have already healed! ;)

We don't use stitches in the usa. We use krazy glue, duct tape, and a staple gun.

Well that's the co-pay for visiting the ER.

Oh I forgot to say this is from last July or maybe August, so it's been healed. I just read the thread about the guy stabbing himself with a used needle and wanted to post this to get some people to laugh.

Ummm isn't gorilla glue the stuff where you have to clamp the two objects( or pieces of flesh, in your case lol) for like two hours?? How the heck did you swing that? Unless they've changed the formula since I've used it :)

No lie! About three weeks ago, I was gluing some crap at work with super glue and it wouldn't come out of the tube so I just squeezed harder. The glue shot out and landed on my leg, gluing my pants to my skin. I didn't really give a crap, I just continued what I was doing until....my skin started feeling hot. It seriously felt like someone was holding a branding iron to my leg! I got this nasty blister and everything! I'm going to have a scar.

So...how the crap did you apply loads of it to an open wound and not have this kind of suffering??

That's what I was thinking...Gorilla Glue used to take a while to set, and it would kind of foam up and kind of expand as it dried.

they have the glue that foams up when it dries but they make a clear crazy glue super glue as well. branching out the brand I guess. they make a gorilla glue duct tape too.

Maybe I can shed some light on this. The glue wasn't burning your skin, per se. It was a reaction with the cotton fibers in your jeans( assuming it was a cotton blend of some sort), which put out enough heat to blister your skin. Super glue can actually cause cotton to ignite. Normally, there isn't any burning sensation when used directly on the skin.

They make that stuff plus they make actual super glue.

Now if the super glue would of gotten inside the wound then it would of burned, but I held the gash together tightly and glued it and sat there blowing on it for like 5 minutes, and the fumes from the glue burned my eyes.

Haha ok back when I used it, there was only the original formula (at least that I was aware of). I stopped using it because I don't have the patience to clamp things together lol. Instant gratification!!!
