    Boaphile still waiting.
    Hey all, :)

Has anyone ordered from Boaphile in the last few months. I ordered my Rack Feb 12th and still have not received it yet :(. I was just wondering if anyone else is still waiting or might have already got there order before mine. I know Boaphile doesn't have the best Customer service in the world I think I sent like 8 emails over the past few months still no response and called phone just rings.. Hoping to get it soon getting ready to move in a few months. And been looking forward to building my collection up..

    Thanks all

    Corey

That's boaphile for you... If it makes you feel any better, I just got my Animal Plastics order last week and it was placed Feb 6th, but at least they returned my emails :P

Hope you get it soon, or at least hear something.

I figured lol :) hey atleast you got emails back. I got my T3 from AP they said 4 to 8 weeks was finished in that amount of time. I know Boaphile says 4-8 weeks .. just makes me nervous and this wait is torture. I am hoping soon just seems a little long. I know it will be worth it when it gets here if he didn't loose my order lol.

Last fall I sent a few emails and haven't heard back so I took my business to Animal Plastics. Going into AP I knew they were built to order, but at least I get a live person when I call! I live in MN and have not heard great things about Boaphile's service or shipping from most everyone who has ordered from him. From what I understand he's a one man band who makes one model for a week or two, makes another model the next, ad nasueum. Good products, but it's his own fault for bad reviews since he refuses to address production and service issues.

Should of went AP :( idk should atleast take a hour of your day and atleast let your customers know that you have there order. Not really comfortable spending 399$ on a product back in Feb and not hearing anything back esp if I am moving locations in a few months.

got a hold of jeff at boaphile a week or two ago after a few tries, and it was a less than pleasant experience. imo, AP>boaphile. 4 months is a long time to be waiting on a rack, especially without hearing back from the person who gladly took hundreds of your dollars. hope you get some reassurance soon.

That is a very long time. I think my order took about a month to arrive (this was a few years ago). That's pretty messed up they aren't getting back to you especially since it's been several months

I gave Boaphile enough money before I gave up.
I'm fine with wait times when they are up front about it. It's when they won't answer you after they have your money.

    That's when I find a new company.

Animal Plastics is 9 weeks out right now.

That's what I hear. I even tracked him down on the redtailboas forums and sent a pm today. to get ahold of him I mean I know he is a one man team. I work nights during the week so its hard for me to get ahold of him during the day because I am sleeping the day away like a vampire and when I do try to call just rings. I respected the fact that it takes a few months to ship I didn't start becoming annoying in emails till this months because just 4 months is to long . AP was great when I got my t3 enclosure from them it took 2 months but they emailed me back and also offered to install my heat panel that ordered from reptile basics if I had the panel shipped to them was a great experience. Just don't feel like I should have to hunt someone down for a product IDC if it takes you a year to build it. just let me know your working on it at least and you have my order and didn't loose it. I am new to the hobby a year ago I got my first BP he's doing great but looking to build my collection and hopefully start breeding in a few years. but this wait in slowing everything down I have passed up a lot of good deals on Ball pythons over the past few months.

Man... He isn't my favorite person to deal with but I do have 3 boaphile enclosures. I didn't buy any of them online though.

That is way too long to be waiting on a product after having paid in full. Tell him to give you a refund or your product ASAP or you will hire an attorney. Have you looked into Cserpents racks?

What kind of person who runs a business, who has an extremely long wait time, posts a video of them relaxing??? Why???

Would love a refund.. Only if I can get ahold of the guy I probably give it another week or so. Yeah never again will I order from him he has time to do youtube videos and such and post on forums he even made a Facebook page back in April for boaphile. Just don't see how hard it is if that your career when you arrive into work check or email or phone messages take a hour out of your day and email me back or call. I mean I know he sees my emails and stuff if he even checks it I am sure hes not overwhelmed with emails like a huge company may be.

I did check out Cserpents. I will prob buy from them they seem to have a great delivery time. Just would like to received my rack that I paid almost 400$ for first before I go off spending more money ...

Since it's been so long and you may need a rack ASAP, you can always call Rich at Reptile Basics. I have two of his racks and love them. I ordered them on a Tuesday and they were ON MY DOORSTEP that Saturday - 4 days later. He's got great customer service too.

I'll be ordering a rack from Chris in the next week or two for me to pick up at a show in August. So far I love his customer service too. He's been very patient with me trying to choose which rack I want and replies to my e-mails promptly.

Yeah that is rough :( I hope you can get your money back, or your product. I would just keep emailing him daily, telling him you want a refund. Threaten legal action. Worth a shot :/ He is essentially scamming you by not responding or communicating at all whatsoever. It has been 5 months. That is way too long to leave someone hanging with $400 out of their pocket and nothing to show for it.

You need to keep calling him. He will not answer e-mail. Check his BOIs, he's been like that for years. Your wait is ridiculous, I ordered the same rack in April and had it 5 weeks later.

I refused to order from Boaphile after reading all the poor reviews. Why would anyone put up with that?! I don't care how "old school" he is, the year is 2013 and if you can't handle emails then you should not be in business. The only reason he continues to treat his customers like garbage is because people keep buying from him. Why should he change if people continue to willingly give him money? (And his product isn't even that great).

Instead, I went with Ed Lilley over at Constrictors NW. I CAN'T RECOMMEND HIM ENOUGH. He was willing to spend tons of time on the phone with me, and always answered emails within 24 hours. His website is great (tons of pics and ordering options; he can make any custom size) and there was no drama when it came time to order.

He quoted me 5 weeks, and my cage came in exactly that time. I put it together in all of 20 minutes, and so far, so good with my bp. Perfect sheds, never misses a meal, temps and humidity are locked in exactly where they should be, etc You can't beat HDPE when it comes to a snake enclosure!

Seriously, I highly, highly recommend the Pro-Stacks or Pro-Lines from Constrictors NW. In fact, I already have another one on order for a GTP that's on the way soon.

I have a boaphile rack...it's a pretty nice rack and I'm happy with it, but I got it used so I didn't have to wait. Personally I don't think it's so great that you should be waiting 4 months, especially with crap communication. I would check out C-Serpents or RBI - I've heard great things about both in terms of quality of the item and communication.

I'll say the same. I can link you to a review I did of my experience with the Pro-Line cages.

Ed actually called me when I was putting it together. I sent him a text during the process with a question and 10 minutes later my phone rang. E-mails, texts, calls. He is also a 1 MAN SHOW.

Best plastic in the business IMO.

    Have a looksy,,

if it's taking this long without spending a little time every day for customer service (email, phone calls ect...) just think how much longer you would have to wait if he did customer service. he probably not answering so he doesn't have to give anyone a chance to cancel their orders.

Well, its a bummer none the less. I went a different route even though I don't live too far from the cages in question, I liked my experience with the Constrictors NW Pro-Lines.

My boa is livin the dream.

Personally I think you WILL get your cages before you move but I just feel for you and anybody else who is so excited to get new a snake, or a new setup and then ends sitting in limbo.

You deserve an e-mail, text or brief phone call.

I don't have any experience with Boaphile but I ordered an Animal Plastics rack back in February and it took 10 weeks to get to my door. In their defense, they told me manufacture time was 9 weeks up front and answered all of my emails along the way. It's a fabulous rack and was well worth the wait. I would do business with them again. Hope yours turns out as nice!

Just another reason why I'll never purchase from him, nor will I ever recommend his product. My AP rack took a week longer to get here than quoted, but they answered every email and let me know that it would be late. You'd never get that from Jeff. I think it's crazy other forums out there actually defend the guy and his customer service...

My next rack will be Animal Plastics, I'll just plan on the 9 weeks ahead of time.

I wasn't happy with my Ball Room rack. I had to screw it to the wall before I felt it was safe to place my snakes in it. No way in Hell I would stand on it like he does in the ad. It would snap like a twig.

I understand that he is a one man army with his business but....
He really should invest in paying a person a few hours a week to answer emails. He lost my my whole tax refund this year.

I have talked with Ali over the phone and she has responded to every email I sent (even before they had my money)
That goes a long way in our hobby.

Can't wait for my Animal Plastics order to show up. I hope am as happy with the product as I am with their service.

Haha well i learned my lesson. i will give it till the end of the month if i do not hear back from him or not and try to ask for a refund. Just think he really goes through the time to spend 99% of the time trying to dodge his customers. If i do end up getting my money back i will probably go back and keep my business with AP since they have a great customer service. Just really annoying i should not feel like i have to hunt someone down like a crazy nut. I do not have the time all week to devote to calling and such i am basically at a email a day also. I posted on red tail boa sites to try to get his attention like the post i did her really never said anything too rude just saying i ordered back in feb have not received and of course a bunch of people go right to his defense..

My big thing is he should no even offer the email on his website as a option

O well lesson learned :) i will keep you guys posted if i hear anything hopefully i will have it by Christmas this year :taz::banana:

Ha that's what I was thinking.

I also have had good customer service speaking with AP. In the end I went Pro-Line, but as stated Ali was right on it when it came to e-mails.

Everybody has their preference and I'm sure there are good arguments that can be made for any cage. But it's that initial contact and the followup that make a difference.

I think you get enough info from people who own the various products to get an idea about quality and I've not heard anything negative about AP. I can speak for the quality of the Pro-Line cages as I own one.

I have seen some other brands up close and personal and thought the plastic was flimsy and fragile.

The bottom line in this whole thread is the O/P should not have to beg, hat in hand for some type of reply. What if there were exigent circumstances and something changed, or possibly the order would increase??

Sadly, this is not the first thread of this kind I have seen which is why I looked at 2 places for a cage based on service and quality and experiences of others.

I hope it all works out in this case.

I had the same experience with AP this last couple months too. I'm getting my 32q economy rack tomorrow at 10 weeks. Ali emailed me at 8 weeks to let me know they got behind and to tell me when my rack would be here. I have no idea what Jeff's thing against email is. It seems to me it would be easier to take some time every day to deal with emails rather than tell people to call and have to keep answering the phone. Of course, from what I'm reading he doesn't do that anymore either. As people pointed out he's on Youtube and Facebook so he must not be computer illiterate or technophobic so why not do email? I've had good luck with him and I like his products, but every BOI he's got is from when there is a problem, he can't be gotten a hold of. NOT COOL! He eventually will loose a ton of business, but then, maybe he doesn't care.

    I agree with you bud.

AP is the way to go. Apparently its with the phone too email to me is just so much easier. I can just shoot you a email idc if it takes you a few days. Just check it but your right he has time to do youtube videos run a facebook page, but do not have time to get back to his customers not cool at all. AP is the best mine took 3 months but they always got back to my emails. At the end of the day I am paying you for a service you should at least assure me that you have my order and give me a ETA on my product. just really frustrating to me.
