South Carolina trip
I'm going on a trip to South Carolina next Friday for a week. It will be my first time on a plane and my first time really going somewhere outside of California for more then a day or two.
We are going there for my wife's cousin's graduation. I think she said we will be in Latta and Myrtle Beach for the most part. (I like to go to reptile shops and the like everywhere I go so if anyone knows of any around that are awesome let me know =P )
I am completely terrified of going on a plane lol... And to make it worse my lock button broke on my iPhone so when I turn it off for take off I won't be able to turn it on again till I find somewhere to plug it in. Luckily my wife is bringing a bunch of travel games for us to play.
What do you guys think of flying? Scary? Not as bad as my mind is ramping it up to be? My wife as been flying places her whole life so she doesn't really get why I'm freaked out (I don't ether lol) and tips or things I should know before hand? Haven't really talked about it too much because it makes me think too much haha...

The first time I ever flew, I was 18 and going by myself to Georgia. I was so excited to fly though, so I can't emphasize with you. xD Honestly it's not that bad at all, I spent the entire trip glued to the window like a kid (and weirded out the businessman who sat net to me on the way there, lol).
Bring headphones and music on your phone; you should have an "airplane" setting on it that shuts off the functionality without you having to physically turn off your phone. :)

Head over to Alligator Adventures in Myrtle Beach, the aquarium is nice too which is at barefoot landing I think.
Like others have said, bring some chewing gum.
Also, relax into it, dont work your mind up too much about it being scary. You will probably be scared the first time but after a while you get used to it and it is just like any other vehicle.

Cool, thanks guys!
I think my wife has the alligator adventures place on our to do list and I'll definitely have to go check out cape fear.

I thought about that but online said that you actually have to turn it off. =/ maybe I'll ask when we get there.

Re: South Carolina trip
You can turn it on when in the air, just take off and landing you are asked to turn it off. :)

It's not bad. Seriously, if you don't look out the window, you can't really even tell you're flying. It's like being in a car, except at the beginning you're leaning back a bit and at the end you lean forward a bit. Really, the incline is much more when taking off. Once you're in the air, you'd never know you were in a plane if you didn't look out the window.
