    New puppy!!
Just put a deposit down on our new girl. She is 6 weeks and will be ready for us to pick up in one more week! She comes with all shots, paperwork, and pictures of the mom and father :) (which I have personally seen and they are incredible!)

Can't believe I finally have a Doberman Pincher to call mine!

This is the wife holding our new baby. Damn they are both so cute :)

    Awww! Adorable.
The reds are my favorite. I have a 10 month old red girl myself.

Congrats on the new pup! Dobermans are the best dogs.

Really?! That's awesome. Was it hard to train her? How did she act when you first brought her home? Thanks!

No. She was by far the easiest dog I've ever trained. She picked things up right away. She learned sit and down within the first 10 minutes of bringing her home. Dobermans train very easily.
We're in the process of Schutzhund training her.

She was a little cautious when we first brought her home. But was curious enough to explore on her own. She wasn't scared, but there was a lot of new things for her to see and smell. We have a GSD, so all they do is play.
We took her out every 2 hours to potty. She learned to go outside fast.
Overall, this is the best dog I've ever had. I have a feeling you may feel the same way with your pup. :)

She is the most perfect dog I have ever had so far! Ha (knock on wood).
We brought her home taught her her name, sit, and stay within the first 20 min! She's also really good about going potty outside. No accidents yet! Can you believe it?? You said easy to train but wow. Ha

Are you going to crop her ears?

Haha thanks everyone. :)! We took her to the store and got compliments from EVERYONE ha. And yes we are going to crop. My wife and I sat down and talked about It for a couple of hours actually, and we came to the conclusion that we want to do it after all. Doberman's without the cropped ears look too much like labs. Not that their is anything wrong with labs, but a Doberman is a Doberman! Did you crop?

    Get a dobie!
A dobie will probably do better in Arizona than a GSD. lol.
Our GSD is always dying in the heat.
    Or get a belgian malinois!

Careful about taking her out. Make sure she gets her Parvo shots at the very least first. :)

I love cropped ears. Do you know what kind of crop you want?
I personally like the show crop (to the very tip of the ear). I like mediums also, but on females only. The medium crop looks too short and small on an adult male's head.

Ours is sadly not cropped. We didn't have any reputable cropper vet in the area and the closest good one was a few hours away. We couldn't commit to driving the dog a few hours a week for 3-6 months to get her ears posted and bandages changed.
And since the one is our area was really bad, we would rather keep the natural ears than have them butchered.

    Here's my dog @ 5wks-6months: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ate*-%28DUW%29
I should make a new thread with an update.

Take lots of pictures of your pup! They grow up so fast! :gj:

She's cute! I've had Dobermans for ten years, they're wonderful dogs. I have a red boy now who's 8 years old, and the reds are awesome. He's the best dog, and he's adorable. His ears are cropped, I think it's more of a medium crop. It looks good on him, a long show crop wouldn't have framed his head very well. It wasn't my choice though, he's from the SPCA and his original family picked the crop. He was left in the lobby with no explaination of why, but his temperament is perfect and he's wonderful with kids and other pets.

Puppies shouldn't go home with their new owners until 8 weeks, though. In most states, it's actually illegal to send them home earlier than 8 weeks, and it would be a red flag for me if a breeder said I could take a puppy home earlier than that. You will have more work to do with socialization and training- those last two weeks that your girl missed with her mom and siblings are when they learn a lot of important lessons on behavior and how to act. Definitely enroll her in a puppy class once she's had her shots.

I really want a GSD for a second dog, but I have to wait a little while. But I will always have a Doberman. They're just amazing dogs.
