More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!
Breaking news! I got word from a customer that cornsnakes actually MORPH into the corn python!! Only kidding...:P I just had to post this tho.. (true story) A customer comes into the shop and asks to see one of the cornsnakes we have. While we are discussing how friendly he is, the customer asks how big itll get. I tell him, and then he looks over at the baby BP we have, and says, they get as big as that guy, right? Cornsnakes turn into pythons, right? In my mind, Im .. trying to imagine a juvenile corn making his little "snakeskin" cocoon, and emerging as.....THE CORN PYTHON!! Alas, I had to inform the customer in a very friendly and understanding way that cornsnakes are CORNSNAKES and ball pythons are BALL PYTHONS....and that the two are distinctly different species. Alas, I shall now go search for some rabbits and canned yams....

Well...at least he didn't ask if you had any bald python boas. I hear those things climb in windows and snatch up yo wives, stealin yo babies and errything.

LMAO!!! ...an errything.

I've heard of red tail ball python at my work.
And a lady who said she bred ball pythons and was hell bent on telling me that a pastel to a normal makes a bumblebee. I had to use every ounce of self control I had.. Lol

Re: More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!
yeah, I had a lady come in the store one time who INSISTED her BOA laid eggs.....I tried to even show her pictures in a boa book....I had to end it and just politely say "whatever you say, lady"......

Re: More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!
I think this person may have been unclear in speaking and asking comparatively if it would get as big as the ball.
In which case, they were still off with the corm likely ending up longer but thinner and lower mass.
But, ballpark to a rookie it is still kinda close, not like comparing an African House Snake and a Burmese.

Re: More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!
No. He specifically said he thought cornsnakes were baby pythons, after I told him the scoop on the two different species.
-
I was talking about snakes to someone at a get together today and a third guy came by and said his buddy had a 8+ foot ball python that lived in a 12 foot cage and got really aggressive when eating. I tried naming off other large snakes, but he insisted it was a ball.

Oh, wow.
I stand corrected.
I honestly thought it would just be someone having trouble conveying their comparison.
Well if you find and shape-shifting corns, could you mail me some that turn into carpets pythons or maybe false water cobras?

I'll take one that turns into a Boelen's python please and thank you!

I almost choked on my beer just then! LMAO!! Yeah, unfortunately a LARGE percentage of our customer clientele is very poorly educated, and on waaayy too many meds..:( I get questions like this all the time: Do the snakes actually poop? Will my puppy be ok in his cage if I go away for the weekend? I didn't buy my tank yet....Cant I just keep the fish in the bag? Are you sure its a boy?(after Ive clearly indicated the balls and penis on the animal to the customer)

Mmm beer.
It's very sad to think about how little a person knows about their animal.

No snakes don't poop, their bodies are magic black holes. The puppy can stay in the kennel only if you place water and food right outside the door and put a potty pad in there. Put the fish and bag in the freezer, keep it there fish won't age and doesn't need food! And finally no I'm not sure this animal has been confused lately and thinking about a sex change. There we go answered all questions :) and showed why I don't try and sell things to the general masses

Re: More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!
yes, it is EXTREMELY sad how little people know about their pets... Ive been working in the pet business for close to 15 years, and I must say that based on the things Ive heard and seen from customers, NOTHING now ceases to amaze me. Sometimes I just look at people and I wanna say to them, "You don't even belong having this puppy/hamster/kitten/bunny yet you have five children!!! How the heck does that happen??!" Ohhh, the stories I could tell.....

2009 till now learning and just got his or her first ball.
That is one informed pet owner.
Impressed me a lot, I wish more people were like this.

Ball Pythons are made of magic and rainbows: if you wish hard enough every night, they'll turn into whatever snake you desire!

I was talking to my dad about this, and I said that too many people spend their time on Facebook when they should be using it to learn something!
Image how much better the world would be if people gave an effort to learn!
Onto the topic of the thread...
One time I was at petco and someone asked me if I could breed a corn to a BP because they have a corn snake and they wanted to get a BP and "it would be fun to make a cool hybrid" -_-
I wanted to smack them!
You don't know how many times I've been asked if I work there! I'm so much more helpful than the employees. xD

Misleading title lol, anyway nice story. :gj:
