What is your favorite movie?

I'm sitting up at work, bored, stuck inside on a beautiful sunday (yay!). I've been on a movie kick the past couple weeks and want some good ideas on movies to watch that i haven't seen. so if you had to pick ONE movie as your favorite, what would it be?

mine? Blow. i've seen it probably 30 times and i'm a huge johnny depp fan. lol

If I had to pick just ONE it'd be The 'Burbs. I've seen the movie at least 15 times. I love it.

Some close runners up are:
Halloween- love the music and horror films in general.
Fletch- one of my dads favourite movies too.
The Hitcher- not a great movie but i watched it when i first got my license and it still scares me a little lol
The Lord of the Rings series- Peter Jackson is a god.
Catch me if you Can- not sure why, just love the movie.

In general I like thriller/horror, "based on a true story", and action movies. Ive never seen Blow, it sounds good though.

If I added The Butterfly Effect, could you still forgive? I'm not saying I am, but IF I did?

i suppose so, but ONLY (;)) because that is a great movie. the only one i've seen out of your list. and it's fine if people suggest more than one movie, i was just trying to get a list of the best of the best so i can hit the movie rental store when i get off tonight. lol

If you're really going to actually try to watch some of these, scratch Beautiful Girls. I love it, but it's a bit of a chick-flick. I'd say Eternal Sunshine and American Beauty for sure. Both excellent and kind of deep.

Have you considered Netflix, creepin? $8 a month and you get unlimited music streamed through pretty much any of your devices. It has a pretty good variety of stuff too. You can do a 1 month free trial too.

Pursuit of Happyness was a good movie.

A Walk to Remember is a good movie too. Definitely not a chick flick.

only seen halloween and the lord of the rings out of that list. fletch and the burbs look pretty interesting. are they on netflix? and if you like johnny depp, you should check it out. blow is, in my opinion, one of his classics.

lol i was typing that last comment as you posted this. i've been thinking about getting it. i've been video-gameless for a few months and about to start looking for a used 360 and was plannin on subscribing to netflix when i got one.

I couldn't name my one favorite to save my life. But X2 on American Beauty. I also like Donnie Darko, Training Day, and Waking Ned Divine.

Are you going to update periodically and tell us what you picked and if you liked it?? That would be helpful. Then later if you need more advice, those of us who gave sucky suggestions will know to just pipe down!

Not sure if those 2 are on netflix... I'll look later on tonite. But yes, imo its worth the $8 a month. It has a ton of TV shows, documentaries, etc. The burbs is my all time favorite movie. Fletch is my favorite chevy chase movie. It has an awesome soundtrack too.

I'm gunna checkout and see if Blow is on netflix

i like deep movies. lol and i also like movies that are complicated enough that you still pick up new things on the third watch like inception or looper. both of those i still thoroughly enjoyed the third time around.

Im so in the mood for Fletch and Fletch Lives, again. You have to watch it a few times to pickup on all the subtle jokes he throws in there. Its 100% my sense of humor lol. Quick one liners thrown at people and them not getting it lol.

Ive seen forrest gump mentioned a few times. Anyone else out there not like that movie? I loved tom hanks in the burbs, but cant watch forest gump. That accent he does annoys the hell outta me. I just wanna slap him.

Scarface, Gladiator off the top of my head.

I really prefer horror/suspense/thriller/action/mystery to comedy/chick flicks/romance

I have a list of favorites. Escanaba In Da Moonlight would be my ONE, but then there is Legend, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, Waterworld, The Chronicles Of Rid**** and so on. All of the hunters in my family watch Escanaba In Da Moonlight before opening day of deer season every year.

One movie that I thought was way overrated: Avatar. Good movie, but doesn't make the top 10 list in my book. Maybe its just because it was so hyped up.

Aliens

It's been a staple in my collection from the age of 3. There's nothing like Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver) wrecking some xenomorphs and beating on the queen with the power loader. :D

Has Boondock Saints been mentioned yet? Awesome movie(s).

The Transporter series was good too. Jason Statham is such a badass!
