Super Fire or Clown?

Which would u choose?
I've narrowed it down to these two but i can't choose! its gonna be my 2nd ball:P
I'm also planning to most likely breed in the future, but its gonna be just a pet for a few years:D

Female clown.
Recessive girls hold their value well.

I agree, female Clown. Clowns are super hot market wise and hold their value well.
just my opinion, but honestly I would buy both.. just to get my fix ;)

Sounds to me like you've already made up your mind. Go with the super fire if that's what you want. Also, if you are getting a male, know that it will be two generations before you see any morphs with the clown, versus only one with the fire (assuming you breed to your albino girl) Get what YOU want!

i love the normal clown also! haha. wat would i make breeding a super fire male, with an albino female? and if i got a clown, i wouldnt breed it to my albino. I'd want to start a black pewter clown project, or go right into pastel/killer clowns

To an albino, you would get all fire het albinos. Sounds like you have big plans! Looking at your other thread, I would certainly get a big CB70 rack, because it looks like you'll be having many more snakes. I bought a 3 tub rack, realized that I needed more tubs, and finally broke down and bought another. Also, good to see another high-schooler on the site!

seems like theres alot more options breeding-wise with the clown. but the super fire just looks so cool! hard decision! which would u choose?

i was actually looking at this rack, wat do u think?

Personally, I would go with a CB-70, which is one size tub larger. In general, the 32 qt tubs will fit adult males, while the cb70 tubs will fit adult females. The 32 Qt tub is equivalent to a 20 gallon long, and a cb70 is equiv. to a 40 gallon breeder. Some people keep both sexes in 32 qts, but I feel that it is a bit too small for adult girls. Also, one thing to consider is that to make a rack feasible, your room needs to be warm (75 degrees plus) for your ambient cool side temps to be warm enough. If I were you, I would buy a 6 or 7 tub CB70 rack. You could buy two RBI or c-serpents racks, or one from animal plastics. Best if luck on whatever you decide to get.

i wont ever have a room that i can change temp just for ball pythons. which is why im liking the belly heat feature which i heard is better for people in that situation. and i tried to go to animal plastics and the website doesnt work

Like mentioned before, they would be fire het albinos.
I love fires, but I think that's a poor combo.

Albino does better when combined with darker morphs. The darker normal or morph coloration becomes high contrast in albinos.
A lighter colored animal, such as fire, will make a low contrast or washed out albino. Especially since the fire gene gets lighter as it sheds.

Although, I suppose you try for a Leucistic Albino in the future. (a white animal with red eyes.)

im actually planning to do exactly that, make a leucistic albino. my next snake (2nd) is gonna be a clown! def underrated and one of the best morphs out there. really looking to start a black pastel clown project, i just need to know what i need to make those 2 first haha

Clown is awesome, but are you looking to breed? If you don't have two or a het you have a ways to go to produce, but the super fire if its a male could be ready by this coming season. Just depends on what your doing. Super fire means you will get nothing less than a fire baby every time. But the clown morph looks awesome. I say super fire.

yes im looking to breed, but maybe a 1-4 years after i buy it. im set on a clown, because im trying start a black pastel clown, or killer clown project. wat would i need to start this up? a normal clown?

No. You would just get clown het caramels and double het clown caramel.
You can however, hold back a clown het caramel offspring and breed back to the caramel 100% het clown parent to produce caramel clowns.

Breed a clown to a caramel het clown is one way. I don't know how much they would be but I think they would be pretty pricey

And the black pewter clown you can get a pastel clown if its in your budget. Then breed it to a black pastel het clown. Or if you can't afford a pastel clown you can just get a pastel het clown

clown x pastel het clown would give me a pastel clown. but black pewter x clown would give me hets, when i breed them back together it would give me a chance to get a black pewter clown? basically getting a het saves u from waiting for another gen of balls?

Go with what you like. I prefer Fires to clowns because I like color over pattern. Clowns are more pattern based morphs and I tend to go for the colorful guys! But you should find the things you like. Though I agree that a fire albino may sounds much cooler than the actual result. I suspect you'd be happier with an albino pied! They look soooooo neat! But really, if you think a combo sounds cool, just do it no matter what anyone says because it is your time and money! I bet you can find pics of all the combos you are looking at online with a bit of work!

do u get this info off worldofbps? and wat are the chances i get a black pewter clown with clown x black pewter het clown combo?
i was thinkin breed a clown to a black pewter, then breed the offsprings which would be double het right? or would that be the long route?

There wouldn't be any double hets because you are only dealing with one recessive gene.

Breeding a clown to a black pewter will get you single hets.

Clown x Black Pewter:
- 25% normal 100% het clown
- 25% pastel 100% het clown
- 25% Black pastel 100% het clown
- 25% black pewter 100% het clown

Depending on what your offspring are, you can breed them to each other or back to the clown parent.
This would be the longest, but cheapest route.

Clown x Black Pewter 100% het clown
- 1/8 normal 100% het clown
- 1/8 clown
- 1/8 pastel 100% het clown
- 1/8 black pastel 100% het clown
- 1/8 black pewter 100% het clown
- 1/8 pastel clown
- 1/8 black pastel clown
- 1/8 black pewter clown

This is a faster, but more expensive route.
