Do they ever?
Do any of your BPs ever just sit and stare/watch you for extended periods of time?
-
Yep, one that I recently picked up just stares at me when I open his rack. Doesn't strike or anything, just stares at me. Sometimes he'll start to move around after a few minutes but like today we had a staring contest for about 15 minutes....he won........like usual.

RE: Do they ever?

He has an unfair advantage in a staring contest. No eyelids. Cheater lol

Do they ever?
Yes! Sometimes when I'm holding them, they will suddenly stop and stare. Never strike or anything, they just freeze and get everyone all worried that they're going to bite... lol then they'll go along their merry way after a minute or two...

my little pinstripe male...seems to love resting his head on the edge of the lip of the sliding glass door (in a T8) and just sit and watch me on the computer doing homework or w/e im up to. When I take him upstairs and sit in my chair in the tv room he'll rest is head in my open palm and curl up the rest of himself next to my arm...
its damn cute...and endearing...and who said snakes weren't cute and didn't have personalities was dead wrong...

Re: Do they ever?
Like this? The lip on my T8 is one of Harlan's favorite places to rest his chin and keep an eye on me...

Oh lord, does she ever.
The desk that her tank is on is right across from my bed and I always catch her just staring at me. Especially the day before feeding day, haha!

My female was in a big forty gallon before I switched her to a rack system and she was very prone to resting her chin on her hide and just watching me. If my boyfriend and I were in there for any reason she would parascope for a LONG time as well.

Do they ever?
my retic sure does. when i move around you can see his pupils following me.

I was changing Oliver's substrate today and doing some rearranging. I left him on my bed, right in my peripheral and he just sat there, periscoping over the box of newsprint and watching me. He was pretty polite and didn't wander off before I put him back.
He stares pretty intently from his hides. If I look at him, he moves his head in whatever direction I move mine.
-
Re: Do they ever?
Mine does this a lot too. I'll bring her out sometimes when we have the hookah going. She likes to climb up the hookah hose and coil herself around the hose and my hand while she rests her head on my hand. :)

Re: Do they ever?
Both of mine do this from their hides. Or when they come out for a drink they will stop and stare. Of course they don`t have eyelids so it`s not like they can blink.

So...he didn't blink?

Not this time, but I'm gonna get him to blink before I die!!

Don't forget....if you don't post pics, it never happened.
:D
[has anybody else ever thought of getting their albinos tiny little sunglasses so the light won't bother their eyes?]
:omg:

Re: Do they ever?
All the time. My little albino ball python I just got stretches his neck and just stares I swear sometimes he is just posing, needless to say I have so many pics of him.

When Steve hides in his bucket/flowerpot, sometimes he'll just sit his head down outside and watch. It helps that my bed and desk are right across from his cage.
Usually, if it's later at night, it's because he wants me to turn the lights off. He doesn't start roaming around until I turn the lights in the room off for him.
I've also noticed him doing it when I'm watching Netflix...I was watching a documentary about snakes, actually. He probably cues in on the movement and the heat of the laptop.
Or, like my dad suggests, he thinks it's a reality show.
