Will I see you there? Manassas or Hamburg show?

Any one else hitting the Manassas Reptile show on the 16th, or the Hamburg show on the 23rd? If so are you looking for anything in particular? I will be keeping an eye out for either a male Hypo, jungle, or pastel boa (or any combination there in) or a nice Female Borneo if I happen to come across any.

I will admit I always end up coming home with something unexpected... and I am excited to see what I come home with this year.

I will most likely be at the hamburg show. I've been wanting to add a lesser female to the collection and barring anything unforseen I'll be able to grab one there.

I should be at the Hamburg show. I live about 45 minutes from there. I'm looking for a pair of Dumerils boas. I'd LOVE to pick up a pair of hypo dums!

Me and my wife will be there....we're so excited, we haven't been there in two years!!! My wife is picking up a pewter she has a deposit on, and we'll probably be looking to get a flat of mice, maybe a few new t-shirts, and whatever else strikes us. And we will be going to Cabelas afterwards for lunch! :hungry: Hoping to see some other forum members there, so let us know what youll be wearing so we can spot you!

Working both weekends :( otherwise Id be at the manassas show..Definitely going to Repticon in Baltimore in May tho!!!

Should be there with my GF and possibly also doing Cabela's for lunch.

Perhaps there should be a meeting spot for everyone going? Like check a certain spot every hour on the hour or something? Thoughts?

I looked for people at the last hamburg show and probably passed by some people w/o knowing it.

That could be fun! I would certainly consider it.

Not sure on what everyone will be wearing. But I think my wife wants wear our matching rainforest café shirts. I know I will be the guy looking(drooling over stuff) but not buying anything lol Unless someone got the winning power ball ticket. :D

Yeah, Ill be there at Hamburg with my hubby. we'll be wearing the same shirt lol, so we should stick out. Im pickin up a female pewter, and some other stuff. Im also lookin for some African pygmy mice.....Ive only seen them ONCE in all my years of going there, but hey...I could get lucky! A lot of my peeps are going to0...people from work, and some of my other fellow herpers in the area. Cant hardly wait!

I want to go to Hamburg but I don't feel like I can justify the trip since I'm not in the market for anything. Hope some of you take pictures!

you don't need to be in the market for anything to justify going to a show......its fun to go just to say hi n hang out with your peeps! Ive been to shows before and walked away with nothing but a tshirt and some jewelry. I had tons of fun tho! :)

It'd be a bit of an expensive trip (gas, skipping work etc.) for me which is why I say that. I've gone to plenty of local shows just for fun.

I'm with you jben if the roads look good i'll be there. but if it's snowing to bad i might stay home. that hour and a half ride can turn into a nightmare if the roads are sloppy.

oh I agree if weather is a mess I not wanting to risk my truck or wife cause people can't drive. I never had much problem driving in it, I guess that comes from almost 14 years or better in the fire house. heck I driven in snow that was up to the truck frame ( park never plowed the snow cover roads) and I still got in and out as needed. and I don't have a lift kit lol. People think it ok to drive even when told to stay off the road.

I would be down to meet, my Fiance and I are still debating on whether or not to make the trip (originally we were all for it but now money is tight).. ugh is the way of things. If we do make it up we will def. stop by!

That was absolutely insane. I have been going to that show for years and never saw it that bad. Got there at 9:30 no parking and line so long which I expected. Left and went to cabelas for a little and came back at 10:30 to find the line just as long as it was when I left. After 15 mins of finding parking and 45 mins in line I got in. So packed inside you could hardly look around. They need a change of venues for this show. I hope they do sometime soon. Other than that I love the show.

I agree with you it was crazy packed in there. Just got home a few minutes ago anyone else from up north of the show hit that killer fog?

Wouldn't it be nice if you could purchase "VIP" tickets? Sell a certain amount of tickets to let people in an hour early or something like that. How great would it be to have an hour of uncrowded perusing? :D just a thought...

Dont forget about the Havre de grace reptile show in MD on march 2nd either. Thats the best time to go talk to vendors since they arnt swamped, like at Hamburg

lol was there at 8 am and the line was already forming. It was well past the boa master trailer. and then some. it was really packed. I shocked they not moved to another location close by cause it was barely moving room. I think I had my toes mashed a dozen times . My wife got her pewter and I didn't get my het pied sold ( was on Balls Deep table ) I was sitting down after awhile due to my back. but man it was great I just wished we could of met anyone there. We went to Cabela's had lunch and checked out the store. more later my dinner late and my rear is dragging.

The place was crazy crowded and it was tough to even get to some tables. Plus everyone was already sold out of small and medium rats by the time I got there. In all my times going to this show I have never seen the line that long that late in the day. It is usually pretty packed inside and the do sell out of rats pretty quick. A good thing to know is that RKZ rodents does take preorders for the show.

I will say they need a new place to hold this show soon. I am very surprised that the fire dept doesn't do anything because I know that place has to be over the max occupancy most of the day.

I have been going to the Hamburg show for over 10 years and i have NEVER seen it that crowded! Usually at around 11:30-12 you can just walk right in. But around 12:45 we left cuz we just couldnt stand it anymore, and the line to get in was like 500 people deep!! Thank god we got in early as vendors!!
