What state do you all live in?
Just wondering where everyone is located. I am in Utah and want to know how many people on here are anywhere close to me?!

Isn't Milwaukie in the Portland area? I live in Richland, WA but my boyfriend has been working in Portland for a few months, Hillsboro to be exact. Maybe I'm way off, just seems like I saw that name the last time I went down there.

That is an accurate assumption. Although I agree with the general idea of having hunters do a round up, I would rather see people who are experienced with burms and giant pythons doing the rounding up. I don't believe it should be opened to the general public. Too many native snakes are going to be killed because of inexperience, and if they actually find a burm, you can bet it will not be put down humanely. One of the members of the central florida herp society was there on the first day, he had a couple guys bring him a rat snake thinking it was a burm. Thankfully, they had not killed the snake before getting it ID'd. According to him, the people showing up were armed to the hilt, looking to be expecting a zombie apoc, or burms spewing forth from the glades at them.
Yay for publicity stunts....

Every time I see this on the news, I picture a different scene from 'Anaconda' and it makes me chuckle.

It's getting to the point that instead of having winter we just have an extended fall. It's January. And I ma wearing shorts for the 2nd straight year. That's just not right.
