Native Earth 18% with FREE SHIPPING!
I found a new site that does free shipping on orders of at least $59. It's $17.95 for a 40-lb bag or $121.45 for five of them.

So the more bags you buy the higher the price per bag

A single bag is $17.95 yet a bag if bought by lot of 5 is $24.29 and you think you are getting free shipping? Shipping is simply imbeded in the price.

Free shipping means the product price remains the same and shipping is not added at checkout.

Well, I only ordered two bags, along with some cat food. :P Didn't even think to check the price on the 5 lot.

Good news is if you buy 4 of them you will get free shipping, well until they realize how much it cost them to ship 160lbs

I don't know about the food, but woooow, $8.50 for a 4.0 cubic foot bag of aspen bedding that expands to 13 cubic feet?!!

    Thanks for sharing! :gj:

I immediately thought "Buy 4 bags of rat food, and check for cheap aspen."

Thanks so much for the link and thank you to Deborah for catching the math on 5 bags too. I hope to order from them this coming week. That's cheaper than I pay for rat food locally without any shipping(because I pick it up).

I pay $22 per 25lb bag of Mazuri where I live, plus tax. I just took advantage of this. Bought 3 bags of food and 3 bags of bedding. :) Thanks again

Pet360 is part of the same group of companies as National Pet Pharmacy, Pet Food Direct, PetMD, etc. It's just a matter of time before they start charging for shipping so order a bunch now. Fool me once...

In that case, don't get on the auto-ship unless you're able to check before the ship time for increases in price or changes in free shipping policy.

Does anyone know about how long shipping takes on this?

If anyone doesn't need that much rat or mouse food, such as for a small colony, or wants to just try out another product, Mazuri is offering free shipping on <100lbs of rodent food. That way if 50 or even 25lbs will last you a long time you can get it delivered free for the next couple of weeks.

It's UPS ground, the website says it takes 1-3 business days.

I added 4 bags in my cart, then added one more (to make 5) and the price was still $17.95 per bag. So if you order 5 or more bags, don't select the 5 pack! Just select the number of bags you want.

They just changed the price to 24.95 for any number of bags. They are also out of stock. Lame.

They changed the price to $29.95. :( I should have ordered more than two bags.

Though it's still cheaper than what I was getting on Amazon, which came out to about $40 per 40-lb. bag including shipping. Mazuri isn't quite as nutritionally balanced as this food is, but I may be switching anyway to take advantage of their free shipping.

Mazuri is the standard by which other foods are judged. And to pay $40 for 40 lbs. is insane.

    Just my opinion.

I totally agree! That is super expensive!

You should check out some distubuters in your area. I went on Mazuri's website and looked up distributors around the city listed in your profile. Go to the link below and call those places. They usually sell them for $24.95 a bag or so. If the tax plus gas money is more than $30 per bag form their site after shipping, then maybe its better to order online.

15 minute drive for me, I get a 50 lb bag for $34. This is a great deal though.

I agree on the price (that's about what I pay at the local feed store) but actually, Native Earth/harlan is better, in ways, than Mazuri. It contains no dried beet pulp, which is a controversial filler. The base of their food is wheat, not corn and soy like Mazuri. Phytoestrogens in soy have been linked to mammary tumors/cancer. Native earth protein also comes from plant sources, rather than animal fat.

Yes, that's exactly why I prefer Native Earth / Harlan. All in all I'm not terribly impressed with any product by Purina. Unfortunately there are no feed stores near me that have or will order either Mazuri or Native Earth.

meowmeowkazoo, I think I've adopted some rats from you. Anyway, there is a feed store in Fort Worth that sells Mazuri 6F, which I've switched to feeding because of the NE/HT sourcing issue. They only sell it at one of their locations and the person I spoke to said to let them know somewhat in advance if you'll be needing some. They sell a 50lb bag for about $24. Let me know and I'll post or PM their info.
