If anyone doesn't need that much rat or mouse food, such as for a small colony, or wants to just try out another product, Mazuri is offering free shipping on <100lbs of rodent food. That way if 50 or even 25lbs will last you a long time you can get it delivered free for the next couple of weeks.

It's UPS ground, the website says it takes 1-3 business days.

Re: Native Earth 18% with FREE SHIPPING!

I added 4 bags in my cart, then added one more (to make 5) and the price was still $17.95 per bag. So if you order 5 or more bags, don't select the 5 pack! Just select the number of bags you want.

They just changed the price to 24.95 for any number of bags. They are also out of stock. Lame.

They changed the price to $29.95. I should have ordered more than two bags.

Though it's still cheaper than what I was getting on Amazon, which came out to about $40 per 40-lb. bag including shipping. Mazuri isn't quite as nutritionally balanced as this food is, but I may be switching anyway to take advantage of their free shipping.

Mazuri is the standard by which other foods are judged. And to pay $40 for 40 lbs. is insane.

    Just my opinion.

You should check out some distubuters in your area. I went on Mazuri's website and looked up distributors around the city listed in your profile. Go to the link below and call those places. They usually sell them for $24.95 a bag or so. If the tax plus gas money is more than $30 per bag form their site after shipping, then maybe its better to order online.

15 minute drive for me, I get a 50 lb bag for $34. This is a great deal though.

I agree on the price (that's about what I pay at the local feed store) but actually, Native Earth/harlan is better, in ways, than Mazuri. It contains no dried beet pulp, which is a controversial filler. The base of their food is wheat, not corn and soy like Mazuri. Phytoestrogens in soy have been linked to mammary tumors/cancer. Native earth protein also comes from plant sources, rather than animal fat.
