Re: dont fit
Don't let it bother you...I'm sure there are a few people who use this forum that don't even own a ball python. If you love your normals, and have an active interest in learning/participating/helping along with others, you're in the right place.
-
Re: dont fit
true i love them tto death :) but atm im saving up for a black pewter (f)
-
Don't let it bother you, I only had one ball and two corns when I came here, and as said above, there is a wealth of information on this site.
-
Ball-pythons.net isn't just for ball pythons! Its a community site for all herp interests. As long as you have a love for animals in general or whatever else you like.
Don't be discouraged by all these fancy looking morphs, we all start somewhere!

You have a bp, not matter what kind, you fit. We all get a normal and go, hey, these are pretty neat. Then go, holy crap, look at all the cool morphs, better start saving. Then start out heading toward bigger morphs, starting with single or double genes. Then go, hey, need a bigger rack....lol. You are fine, this is a great place!

Don't feel bad!!! Both of my kids are normals and I LOVE them! They are so different and so beautiful/ diverse. They are the most diverse and unique morph and I am completely head over heels on them! My avatar is my beautiful girl Perry and my signature is my new boy Draco they are both normals and they are both beautiful as they are!!! Be proud and know that you deserve to be here just as much as the people with 200 different morphs in their homes.
-
I have a normal! She's my only snake. Don't worry about it, :)
-
Dont feel bad bro! I have a pastel, pinstripe, high white pied, cinnamon and a normal. Truthfully I love my normal the most out of all of them if it had to choose :D
-
When I joined, I had a normal.
Then, thanks to the forum, I ended up with:
1.0 bumblebee
0.0.1 normal
0.2 normal

Re: dont fit
thanks guys u are the best i feel welcomed now :)
-
I don't have bp's and I don't plan on ever having one. All I have are 2 corns and a dream of having a few clutches next season. This site is by far the best one I've been on for corns, or anything else for that matter. Even better than forums that are dedicated to corns.
If you think that you really don't fit in, then just get some cool morphs!!! :P
-
Heck, look at my signature, I have 9 "normals"! And if you count the het pieds, that would be 11! What is "normal" anyway? I'll bet most everyone here started with 1 normal. And some of the blessed few, with self control, have stopped with the one normal!
-
Self control *snort* what is that???? Lol......

My first BP was a PetCo normal.
If I had to get rid of most of my snakes for some weird reason, my 'mutt' Iggy would be staying.
I love her dearly and think she's very beautiful.

I think everyone has pretty much said it. If you love snakes then you're in the right place. I got my only ball as a rescue. Some one called my clinic a half hour before we closed saying they woke up and found a bp in a cage on their porch. Told them to bring it down and I'd take it. That's how I got D'artegnan.

Browse thru the multiple pages on THIS FORUM and you won't feel like you don't fit.

Hey Hunter, that's cool! I've been around here for months and only have one normal BP myself. I'm more of a boa girl, but I still adore BPsm and I adore the community even more! It is so much fun to see everyone with
And who knows, maybe you'll get some of those beautiful morphs one day? :gj: Don't underestimate the value of a normal ball python, and don't think your snake isn't special just because someone else's has brighter colors or a cleaner pattern. Heck, I think my snake is
I could look at pictures of crazy and expensive morphs all day, but I'd much rather hang out with my own little buddy. Sure, he may not look as "unique" as some of the ones I see here, but at the end of the day, my own snake is so much more special to me than any of those pictures of ones I don't have. Eventually you'll start to not look at things with a "Why can't I have one of those??" perspective, but rather a "Wow! That's amazing! I wanna handle my snake now!" mentality.
Ball pythons are an incredibly diverse species of snake and is arguably the most variable pet reptile available. That is what makes them so great; although there are so many variations of the snake, no color or pattern is fundamentally "better" than another and vice versa.

Re: dont fit
What brings us together and makes us "fit" is our love for these beautiful animals. Not just ball pythons, but all of the amazing creatures that make up what we call "herps". We have lots of members that don't even keep ball pythons, but still come here and participate because our primary mission is to help people learn to take care of their reptiles....we're not here to just showcase ball python morphs. Not at all.
I've been doing this for many years now...have grown BP.net from a tiny little site to what it is now...and I have a whopping 4 ball pythons to my name. Trust me, it's not about how many you have, or how fancy they are. It's just about love for the animals and the people that care for them.

I've got several morphs now, but my two favorite snakes are a het pied and a dinker because I'm partial to the snappy ones. They might not be all that much to look at, but if I could only keep two the morphs would be finding new homes and the two who might not be the prettiest would be staying.
There is plenty of room in the hobby for everyone.

The first BP I ever saw was a normal. I thought he was beautiful. I went out and got me one. He is my favorite BP that owns me:D I wanted to learn as much as I could about his care. I joined this forum and I have learned so much. I also never knew a ball python morph existed until I joined this site. Don't ever feel like you don't belong here. I don't post to much here except on the BP pictures. I love looking at them normals, morphs it doesn't matter.
-
I don't even HAVE a ball python (at the moment).
Don't feel out of place!

Re: dont fit
i love my snakes i would never give them up they are my family :)

I am one of those who doesn't keep many balls. In fact, I only have one - a normal. I plan to focus primarily on boas and geckos so to be honest, although I adore my BP, she will most likely remain my only BP. But I love this forum!! I come here daily and post daily somewhere along the way. I don't visit any other forum as frequently - and that includes my boa and gecko forums! BP.net is the best and it's because we ALL fit in here no matter what we have - or what we don't! :gj:
