I think everyone has pretty much said it. If you love snakes then you're in the right place. I got my only ball as a rescue. Some one called my clinic a half hour before we closed saying they woke up and found a bp in a cage on their porch. Told them to bring it down and I'd take it. That's how I got D'artegnan.

I've got mostly boas, but I spend more time on this site than I do on the boa forums...

Hey Hunter, that's cool! I've been around here for months and only have one normal BP myself. I'm more of a boa girl, but I still adore BPsm and I adore the community even more! It is so much fun to see everyone with

And who knows, maybe you'll get some of those beautiful morphs one day? Don't underestimate the value of a normal ball python, and don't think your snake isn't special just because someone else's has brighter colors or a cleaner pattern. Heck, I think my snake is

I could look at pictures of crazy and expensive morphs all day, but I'd much rather hang out with my own little buddy. Sure, he may not look as "unique" as some of the ones I see here, but at the end of the day, my own snake is so much more special to me than any of those pictures of ones I don't have. Eventually you'll start to not look at things with a "Why can't I have one of those??" perspective, but rather a "Wow! That's amazing! I wanna handle my snake now!" mentality.

Ball pythons are an incredibly diverse species of snake and is arguably the most variable pet reptile available. That is what makes them so great; although there are so many variations of the snake, no color or pattern is fundamentally "better" than another and vice versa.

    Re: dont fit

What brings us together and makes us "fit" is our love for these beautiful animals. Not just ball pythons, but all of the amazing creatures that make up what we call "herps". We have lots of members that don't even keep ball pythons, but still come here and participate because our primary mission is to help people learn to take care of their reptiles....we're not here to just showcase ball python morphs. Not at all.

I've been doing this for many years now...have grown BP.net from a tiny little site to what it is now...and I have a whopping 4 ball pythons to my name. Trust me, it's not about how many you have, or how fancy they are. It's just about love for the animals and the people that care for them.
