New tattoo!
This is my new tattoo, only the outline so far. The vines and leaves will be green when done, the flowers purple, pink, or maybe red. This tattoo took 2 and a half hours to outline and WOW! wow!!! Did it hurt! On a scale, I'd say a 9/10 at least. I had root canals done and an infection in my sockets after my wisdom tooth removal that hurt MUCH less. Ouch! But it looks gorgeous. She did a fantastic job. I'm in no hurry to get it filled in as that hurt quite a bit, but it'll get done over time.
Anybody else have rib tattoo stories? Did it hurt pretty bad?

nice work... Cant wait to see it all colored in....
I got a few tats also. But i don't wanna jack your thread.. LOL.

Any rib tats? If so did they hurt pretty bad? Trying to figure out if I just have a low pain threshold or if this is a tricky spot. Thanks by the way! :) I like it a lot.

Tat looks great and will look even nicer when you get it colored. I've got one in mind for my ribs but I'm waiting on them to heal up; broke six of them not quite a year ago and they still hurt, sooooooo...I'm thinking someone jabbing a needle into the skin with the vibrations from the machine wouldn't be the best thing, lol! It looks good and thanks for sharing.

Yea, hitting the bone in the elbow hurts. The only other time one of my tats really hurt was my left calf piece. Most of it was fine except when he got to the tips of the chick demons wings, pretty close to behind the knee is a tender spot!
Good looking tat, I heard ribs were really bad...

Very nice;):D
Think of the areas on a mans body (cause you sure coulndt be viewed as one:cool:), if hair doesnt grow on an area its going to hurt and if there is no meat on the bones it going to hurt a lot more.

Yeah, it sucked--I'm pretty skinny so there was practically no fat whatsoever. 115 pounds on a heavy day lol so OW!!!! The needle kept vibrating through my ribs and boy did it burn. Kinda like what I'd imagine if someone took a blowtorch to you. :/
I'm excited for the color though.
The lady parts did hurt pretty good too. The needle went right in between the tissue in the breast area and that's pretty sensitive, but I made it! I'm so pleased with myself. :D My boyfriend loves the heck out of this tattoo lol and I'm happy also. But no rush to go do it again...

The coloring parts will not hurt as bad as the out line,The gruoping of the needles used is different so it changes how it feels when it enters the skin.
I just finished up a clients ribs last week(been doing alot of ribs lately:rolleyes:)and she was alittle reluctent after the outline but she sat very well for the shading.

hope you dont mind me posting this pic.

I have been working on my ribs/side for the last 2 months. I currently have the outline done and half of it shaded. I'm having it done in grays only so no color. I thought that it bit a little, but it was no wear as bad as I thought that it would be.http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/...8/9b5e8418.jpg

Nice tattoos! I think the lady who did mine pressed pretty hard so maybe that is why it hurt so bad. I hope the shading is better. Looking forward to getting it done but no rush! :)

Lots of nice ink in this thread!
-
That's gonna be so pretty when your done. Makes me want to get another.

All the tats in this thread look nice imo! Be sure to post a pic after you get it colored in shellie!

Sorry to go completely off topic but...

Spitting image?
Back on track, I have a large rib piece too. And no, it's not exactly fun. I went in for a 6 hour sitting, and the very next day I went in again to finish the outline and start some color.
Lucky for you, the shading really is a lot easier to sit though

I have heard that the chest is the worst, then ribs and inner arm adjacent to the ribs. I've also been told that over the spine gets a little painful. My close friend had a big piece on her ribs and said that it was one of the more painful ones, but not as bad as her inner arm. Dunno. I think it depends on the person. For instance, my ribs are sensitive in general, but my back, not so much. I'm getting my tat on my back needless to say. :P As soon as I can find an artist that can do realistic snake portraits that is.
