What is this guy???
I received this guy as a Russo in a trade...but this one looks MUCH different than my other Russo. It kinda has black pastel markings, but ive never seen a black pastel look like this. Here are some pics, lemme know what yall think.

I have no idea what he is, but if you don't want him I do!
He has an insane amount of blushing and awesome color. I know nothing about Russos, so I can't help you there. I can say I don't see black pastel in him.

Looks like a really hot Normal.

Re: What is this guy???
I know nothing about about Russo, I dont see black pastel. I'm thinking I see a nice normal.

Re: What is this guy???
Does it have a clean belly?

Russo's have clean/clear bellies, flames, and more solid markings like your other one. Some have very minimal blushing on top. That doesn't really look much like a Russo but it could be if the belly is clean.
Here is a yearling Russo het...

Here is Vins page on the Russo hets and leucys they produce. Lots of pictures to compare.

Thanks Gale, but whatever the real situation is with this guy..hes a keeper for sure. Definately something im gonna play around with.
Nice and clean belly. He has mostly a Russo look but at the same time ive never seen a russo with such exaggerated features like his.

Re: What is this guy???
To me that one looks more like a Russo than the one you posted with it. But I could be biased because I have one that looks just like it

His belly is clean and the flames are there full blast. It probably is a Russo.
Oh and sorry mods for hot linking that photo :(

Swimming around google a lil, I read Russos and Mochas are very similar. I googled some pics of mochas and a lot of those pics look more like my little guy than the other pics of the Russos so im betting hes a line of Mocha instead of Russo. Either way, my lil fella still has way more blushibg than any pics i seen of either morph, so...yay! Lol

The major difference can be seen with hatchlings. After a russo has its first shed it almost looks like candy. They are very orange and yellow. They lose that color within a few months though. That's when it becomes harder to tell them from other subtle morphs. A big giveaway is that most of them have a crazy pattern with lots of keyholes and alien heads.
Here are some that I've produced. When compared to normal siblings in a clutch, there is no mistaking them. Easy to pick out as hatchlings for sure.

So you'll know what to look for when you produce babies..

No. No combos because I'm straying from ball pythons. I'm not working with many anymore. I've only produced clutches of single gene Russos. In fact, I have some in here right now...
