Genetic Marker?
Hey peeps. I spotted a Pinstripe in a pet store today. I noticed that towards the tail there is a spot (which is on both sides) that has pigment loss. See pic below. Could this be a genetic marker for something or just random? I have never seen this before. Have any of you?

That is very odd! Looks like bleach was spilled on it. I don't know of any kind of genetic marker it could be, but I'd sure pick it up and try to prove something out.

Yeah its interesting for sure. I was in there for a half hour just staring at it.

Looks like a partial ringer. You can even see the orange bordering the white. Cool

its probably nothing, but you never know, and even if its not, it looks to be a pretty darn nice pinstripe

Re: Genetic Marker?
SOooooo tempted. Plus I'll be in the area of the store tonight. I am also in the market for a 600g female platinum lesser. I should get both huh? haha!!

Hard choice, my gut says something sort of paradox or a non-genetic ringer. If you really want to get him and play around with the ringer stuff you could. Otherwise, save up for that girl you want.

I have a hard time seeing its a pinstripe. Second its a ringer. Pretty cool looking but most likely thats it

yep that's a ringer, I've never herd of one being proven genetic. There's got to be something going on with the ringers though, certain morphs throw them more often than others, pieds, cinny/black pastel come to mind. however it appears anything can throw them. if it was a female I'd pick it up, just something cool about them.

Here is a pic of the head and some body. Has some stuck shed but I can handle that.
What exactly is a ringer? Never heard of the term. Thanks.

Too bad my popping skills suck right now. I do have a probe kit that I have used a few times and can tell the difference between males and females that way.

This is the Lesser I was talking about. Oh decisions, decisions, decisions.

A Petco in Burbank...but you won't find him/her there. I got it yesterday.
I know a lot of people would never buy a snake from Petco but this guy was only in there for a week. I was there a week prior to that and it wasn't on display. IMO he's in a better home now. The price I paid was similar to prices I saw at the Pomona show a month ago. If the tail weren't so interesting, I wouldn't have bought it there. I'll post more pics once he is settled in. I am still getting the Lesser too. Exciting week.

I love to add snakes like that to my collection. You never know. Ringers and paradox animals are really cool and great to look at every day. Yours is pretty neat, enjoy him/her.

I see what you mean, those are more extreme. Nice offspring for sure.
You're right though, even if this guy/girl doesn't prove out, its still interesting to look at.
Thanks.
