how do you keep water bowls from flipping over?

So for some reason all of my adult ball pythons have decided to start flipping over their water bowls. They have the medium size crocks and it seems like almost everyday someone has a flipped bowl. So my question is what steps to do you guys take to keep them from flipping there bowls? I have them on newspaper if that matters at all. Thanks in advance.

I use ceramic dishes, they are heavier.

x2, They're still tipable but I probably only get a spilled dish every month or so.

Cheaper than anything I can find around here. I get them at the dollar store for a buck. They have an indentation around the bottom that the snakes squeeze under and they use the bowl as a hide too and I never see them get flipped.

i use dog bowls they are only a buck or two ea. They are wider at the bottom than the top so they are harder to spill. plus they are pretty tall like mentioned before. Juvi sized snakes hide under them really well. Even my 1500 ghost male makes due hiding under it lol

That is so funny! It reminds me of a cartoon or something haha! I use a rock corner dish I got at the pet store because my bowls were tipping, this way its in the corner, it looks nice and it helps keep humidity being by the CHE.

Hatchlings use plastic cat dishes from the dollar store. Adults use stainless steel dog dishes from fleetfarm. Same as others have said, wider on the bottom.

We use cheap plastic dog water bowls that we got at a mom & pop pet store for $1 a piece. They are large enough that they cannot be flipped over in the tubs we use. Even in taller cages we have yet to have one tipped over because they are smooth and are wider at the bottoms.

I also use dog water bowls. I get them from the dollar tree. They get wider as they go down and there are no 'handle holes' so they can't get under them.

but the large are surprisingly still too small & i just got them this month but now i'm gonna have to order the x-lrg ones next month.

pigfat - i used the corner rock dishes too for that very reason but soon realized that the rock is so hard to just clean good enough (has to be scoured very hard just to try to get into the tiny cracks & nooks) & even being washed frequently wouldnt keep them from building up the yucky slime in 'em.

Agreed. I use brule dishes. They come in various sizes and I've never had a water bowl tip. Ever. And they all match to keep my OCD under control :D I use the medium and large ones and keep many extra on hand for easy swap and cleaning.
