I'm never that good at naming animals, lol. All BPs I get are given characters' names from the show BONES. My Black Hooded female rats are Lucy & Ethel. My Agouti female rats are Thelma & Louise. And my Milks are Jekyll & Hyde. Apparently I'm not very original, lmao. Good luck!

Well here's how we named ours:

My daughter loves Peter Pan so she named her normal BP after one of the Lost Boys...Nibs
I am a Star Wars fan so I named my pastel with orange coloring on him after one of the Clone Wars Commanders that has orange on him...Cody (it's Commander Cody on the show but that's too big of a name)
My wife is an Elvis fan so she named her pinstripe after something Elvis related...Memphis

Pick something you like (other than BPs of course) and use that as your motivation.

My rats actually come when I call them and I've trained them to sit and stay. It was easier than training my puppy but she's got a few screws loose lol.

I name all my snakes after Greek god and heroes .

Yup! Same with our rats. People don't realize how intelligent they are. With a little work they are every bit as intelligent as a dog and every bit as stubborn as a cat.

We don't really name our snakes either. We usually just call them by a distinguishing feature. For instance:

One Eye - She had an injured eye when we got her.
Clear Belly - She has an amazing clear belly.
Fat*** - 3,300g ball, nuff said...

Than again, we have close to 40 snakes at the moment, so its easier just to go by thier morphs, gender or tub numbers.

    I know, I'm a lot of help... :(

I have over 100 snakes and they get names, not numbers, and yes, I know all their names. :)

I name specific morphs, or clutches, after language-region-ethnicities... i.e Hebrew, Hungarian, French Canadian etc.

My only suggestion is to NOT name that snake Monty. :)

I always like names that are short, only a syllable or 2, and have letters that look nice together. Like Skulk. or Ren. Just meaningless sounds sometimes haha.

I swear though, if I see one more person on Tumblr with a normal ball python named Nagini ...

I use alot of names off Spartacus my fav show my male pewter is Spartacus my male pastel lesser Crixus. Mira and Sura my two pastel girls, my spider girl Melitta and my big het albino female Gaia. Kinda cheesy but couldn't help it. :gj:

I have a female pastel named Charlie which would work for a male too.

All my snakes have names as it is easier to refer to them as their names.

Also, guilty of having a Monty... But we also have

Cleo, Xander, Peaches, Oprah, Lestat, Akasha, Apep and can't forget about Maddy (Madrid after who won the World Cup).

We tend to name 'em by their pattern.

Got a really nice alien on it? E.T.

    Got a wave-like swoosh? Tsunami

A prominent dot on the neck? Dotty.

    etc.

I named all of my breeder balls after characters and/or production people in the movie Princess Monoke.

You can see them in my signature.

Re: good names for ball pythons?
Humperdink is her name...not sure where exactly my buddy got it from, he always comes up with unique names for his pets. I think there was a prince Humperdink in "The Princess Bride" movie which is a classic. Also there was a Engelbert Humperdinck who was a musician, which is propably where my buddy got it from...

I tend to give my animals English or French regular people names. I currently only have my albino, Oliver.

I don't always follow that rule. I did once have an Oscar fish named "Chairman ROFLMao".

    good names for ball pythons?
I name my males after Norse gods such as Odin, and Odin loved to eat kittens as a snack in the mythology:) females I have several ways. My normal has the number 8 in her pattern, and in numerology 8 represents karma and is the most female of all the numbers I believe. Others just come to me, or I leave up to the gf haha.
