    New T's and some updates...
Picked up 3 new tarantulas today:

Avicularia metallica (unsexed but looks female)

Avicularia avicularia (unsexed and a crappy pic)
    http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...2/f62f9ee5.jpg

Euathlus pulcherrimaklaasi (a sling, first time owning one. The adults are really pretty IMO. Anyone who has one feel free to tell me about theirs!!)

    Updates:

My smithi female that had a bad molt with the previous owner just molted and all her legs look perfect except they are very slightly smaller then the others. Hardly noticeable!!!!!
    Before the molt:

    After :D

    http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...2/8aa7a8b4.jpg

Here are a couple pics of the molt where you can see the flap showing female:

And my Xenesthis immanis molted but I destroyed the molt :rage: By the colors though I am assuming it's a male. Very pretty IMO :salute:

The avi avi has a nice abdomen pattern. You don't like that? Congrats on the pick ups! Glad to hear your smithi is back on it's legs. :P

Great pics, and gorgeous animals! I love how bright the little toes on the a metallica are :D I'm always fascinated by how they can regenerate their limbs like that, it's so cool to see. I can't wait til my immanis starts getting the adult colors, (s)he's in heavy premolt now, so at least I can get a shot at sexing it!

    Thanks for sharing!

Thanks and yes I really like the Avic avic's pattern too :D What I did not like is I took a crappy pic of her (I say her because for right now that one looks to be female too but is not as big as the metallica, she appears to be in pre molt also). I love the avics!!! Most are so sweet and easy going!!! I sold my female A. metallica and A. avicularia awhile back and regret it to this day. If these two turn out to be female they are never going any where - lol. Even if I ever downsize or get out of T's for some reason they will never go - lol.

Here is a better pic of the A. avicularia in her new home:

Thanks!!! The A. metallica's are super cool IMO and always has been a fav of mine!! They are really pretty, laid back and get to be a good size!! I hope your immanis turns out to be female!! I am pretty sure mine is a male. I am cool with that though since they are so much prettier then the females. Just means I got to buy another one and hope I get a female next time - lol :D

I always love looking at your T's. While I'm not a fan of them, I do think they are beautiful :)

Lol well, I've always appreciated the art in nature. I think many insects and arachnids are breath taking! I tried to get into tarantulas a couple times but I just can't get over my fear of not wanting to hold them. I had a pair of yellow rumps about 16 years ago. Then 5 years ago I had a rose hair that I gave my sister and she still has her.

For me it's my emperors :) I'll play with them any day!

Those are better pics. I may have to convince the wife to get one. Decided to hold off though on the other five until after we get back from AZ at the end of the month.

The A. Metallica is one of her favorites too.

If I wasn't such a chicken, my choice would be a green bottle blue. I think they are the most beautiful T's out there! I'd have to devise a completely no contact way of feeding and watering it though.. Plus I'd probably be wearing safety goggles too lmao!!

The GBB is fast and not a good choice for a first T. They are also a little agro. Any Gramatosa (sp) is a good choice. Our Chaco is a sweet heart.

I second Nektu on this one, GBB isn't something that's usually very chilled out and are pretty quick to shoot hairs. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chaco Golden Knees (Grammostola Pulchripes) but they, like almost all Grammostola, tend to get some pretty severe mood swings from time to time. Another group you could look at are the Brachypelma. They've got some pretty stunning lookers, and they tend to be pretty docile as well (though of course there are always exceptions) and aren't hard to find.

Agreed on the Brachy. The fire leg is fast, the red rump we have is moody, but the smithi is awesome.

That A. avicularia is ridiculously cute. Little red toes, spotted back, fuzzy little legs.... Cute is the only word I can use. :P
