    Baby Rainbow Boa Unboxing Vid
    So, being the indecisive person I am, I decided against a rosy boa and went with a Brazilian rainbow boa instead. They've always been my favorite type of boa :D I just got him today, but unfortunately because of where I live he didn't arrive until around 4pm, and was pretty stressed out. He's only a little more than 3 months old, and is from a Pearl x High Orange pairing. He's just beautiful, and A LOT smaller than I thought he would be!

    He did bite me once, but I'm sure it's just because he was scared. I know I wouldn't be in the best mood if I was jostled and thrown around for 21 hours, so I'm sure he'll be fine once he calms down. Thanks to Aubrey Ross of Slipstream Serpents!! <3 She's just awesome to deal with, very friendly and nice, and I was impressed by how warm and secure the little guy was in the package. I can't recommend her highly enough!!

    Now comes the long week of waiting to handle him!! Sorry the vid just kind of cuts off at the end, as you can see he started squirming and I just wanted to get him into his enclosure. He went and hid right away and hasn't come out yet haha Expect some pics soon!! :D

    It definitely is!! I was really anxious all day, I sat outside for most of it and got a nice tan waiting for the white truck :P It must get easier if you order online all the time, because I have to say that it was nerve-wracking today haha

    I had my first snakes shipped to me at the end of March and it was the most stressful night I think I've ever had. The night time temps dropped to 22 and they were cold when they arrived. My hands were shaking so much that I had trouble opening the bags. Every shipment since has been less stressful, but I don't ever want to recieve another reptile when the night temps drop below 40. :P

    I'm glad he arrived safely. :)

    Congratulations on your first Brazilian Rainbow Boa. They're definitely one of my favorite types of snakes and make wonderful pets. As long as you have an enclosure set up with limited ventilation and a large water bowl, you shouldn't have any problem maintaining high humidity. It'll be great to see some pictures after you give him time to settle in. Take care.

    Thanks everyone!! :D He finally came out last night and explored a little, such a cutie.

    @Moonlight Boas
    Yup, he's currently sitting at around 90% humidity. Thanks for the tips! You have some amazing BRBs on your site!! :O

    Very pretty little guy. Congrats. When I got my first snake shipped to me he was five hours later than when he was supposed to arrive. I was a nervous pile of goo by the time he finely made it. Again- Congrats!:D

    Wooo!! So he ate a small fuzzy for me a couple days ago, just snatched it up and pulled it into his hide haha And then today I handled him for the first time!!! :D I was really nervous but he was so much more calm.... a lot more like how the breeder described him to be. He was a little tense at first, but then started relaxing and exploring... no striking or hissing or anything, such a sweetie!! And already so strong too!! :O It is amazing how different they are from other snakes... he had a very firm hold of my pinky finger the whole time.

    Anyway, I just wanted to share!! I really wanted some pictures, but of course I was already holding him when I went to pick up my camera, and the batteries were dead :rolleyes: So I will definitely get some pics next week!!

    Hey Erin, I'm glad he's doing well. It's amazing to watch Brazilian Rainbow Boas grow up. For the first year or two, their color continuously develops with each shed. You'll have to keep us updated with new pictures along the way :)

    Thanks Paul! :) I can't wait to see how his color develops either. His dam is a High Orange, so it will be interesting to see how bright he ends up being.

    Anyway, here are some pics finally!! He's had another meal with me and then I had him out today... I'm just loving his temperament... very calm and sweet. I've noticed that he's been staying in his cool side hide a lot though (unless he's been coming out very late at night and I never see him). Just wondering if that's normal? He seems very healthy otherwise, and he did look a little dull today when I took him out... so maybe he's shedding??

    Anyway, here is Helix :D
