    I need help
So I have a leopard gecko and might want to get another lizard.
I like tegus and am wondering if that would be a good lizard choice.
I know columbians are not a good choice.

I don't know anything about tegus, but beardies are cool! They eat like pigs, but have great personalities and are very intelligent.

Tegus are sweet, but don't plan on all of them being nice and friendly  My sis picked up a red tegu and he's got an attitude like no other. They apparently need quite a bit of handling. Also remember that they get enormous! My friend has a black and white that has to be at least 3-4 feet long and very heavy. The reds can get to 20 pounds, so you have to be prepared for that and be able to house it! Care isn't very hard for either color though. They grow pretty fast too, since October he's already doubled in size, so if you don't have the room, a tegu isn't an option!

Uromastyx are pretty cool. BTS (Blue Tongue Skinks) make good pets, I hear. Remember to check whether the lizard that catches your interest requires UV lighting or not.

Since coming from a leo I might suggest something a bit smaller first. Try a beardie or a blue tongue skink. Monitors and Tegus and iguannas are not a second type of reptile in my opinion. They are a ton of work and can seriously harm you unless you know what you are doing. Well honestly they can seriously harm you even if you know what you are doing.

I LOVE tegus and have wanted one for forever.....however....I have taken care of one that had an attitude and got mad at me a few times. Its itimidating to say the least. They need HUGE cages and a good controlled diet. Quite frankly that is the least of your worries with those. lol

I don't mean to talk you out of it......I just hope you take smaller steps prior to getting one. Deal with a mad BTS coming at you first...

If you don't mind the eventual size savs are pretty cool little animals.
