    Ahah getting bitten? so fearful
So, i find myself being so fearful of getting bitten by my new balls who are 7month old. Never been bitten yet but struck at a few times by the male.
I feel dumb for being scared becuase i have been attacked by many mother cats during a bath and just getting to close to babies. I have been stung by a wasp 2 times and stepped on 4 bees. Yet i am scared as poo to get bitten. I heard getting bit is not as bad as my cat attacks ahah

    any stories for me? :D

sorry i got nothing but a couple close calls. i say close calls cuz i've caught my little 6 month old mojo female thinking over whether or not she should have a go at me. whenever i catch her giving my hand the "stink-eye" i just pick up whatever hide box my hand is closest to and use it as a shield. she usually ends up changing her mind, though, but i'm just waiting for the day i'm not paying enough attention to her and that'll be the day she gets me.
i've heard the bites are more shocking then they are painful. i really do hope that is true, lol.

My sister got bit by a ball python last year. She immediately got extreme headaches. She went to bed that night and about 4:30 in the morning, we heard the worst scream coming from her room. We ran into her room, only to hear her screaming under the sheets. We pulled the sheets off of her and this is what we saw.....

Just kidding, bites are more fearful than hurtful. Once you get bit, you'll say to yourself, that wasn't that bad.

Sorry for the joke, but I had to do it,

If you've been on the receiving end of kitty wrath then you got nothing to worry about. I have yet to be bitten but unless it's a large snake or a feeding response bite they don't hurt very much.

Just make sure to get all the scent of rat off of you before you go and pick em up.:D

I've gotten worse bites from kittens ;)

Here's my first bite. That guy was 2 years old when he got me.

BP bites are nothing. I would take a bite from them over just about every other living creature! I was really scared to get bit before that bite, but after actually getting bit, it's no big deal! It will startle you! They're quick!

Getting bit by a rat is a whole other story! I've got a picture of my first rat bite too, it's not pretty!

Being fearfuly of a bite is nateral. But after being bite more times then I can count. Ive learned that It still startles you more then hurts. But a big snake hurts, but mostly from the power behind the hit. Ive had burms and boas leave a bruse. I think the worst biters are the one that hang one and grind.

I just fed all 45 of my balls this afternoon and I was careless and got bit 4 or 5 times... lol. One of the little buggers was chomping down on my finger like it was a french fry.

It really doesn't hurt. The bites can draw a tiny bit of blood, but it's not a big deal. You just have to pay attention to the snake's demeanor and practice picking it up where your hand isn't right in front of its face... especially if your hand smells like it was just sifting through 50+ rats/mice like mine was.

I've never been bitten by a ball, but if you look at their mouth while they're eating, you'll realize that their teeth are just so darn tiny that it really won't do much lol.

Like everybody else has been saying, bites arent that bad. So long as they ar from BP's, juvie boas and burms, and all those little snakes.

My Redtail bit me once, and that was all cuz i tried to get her out of the shower. It was actually a cool experience for me. I had little pricks all on my fingers. The speed and such is the only scare. It will possibly swell up and bruise, but within a few hours the swelling will be gone and in 2 or 3 days you lost all bruising. It took me longer because she bit just right and popped my finger out of place of a joint. Apparently she really likes saunas.

Just be careful around the snakes that get 10+ foot, or any snakes that have longer fangs. Example: Emerald Tree Boa. Their longer fangs are for piercing feathers, but they also do pretty good at leaving scars on your back. This i know =D

It's nothing, when you get bitten, especially by a 7 month BP, you will laugh immediately after lol. The more fearful thing you should be afraid of is your reaction, try not to jerk the snake, as this can cause significant damage to them. But then again, it's human instinct to be afraid of these types of things, so all in all just try not to 'sweat it'.

Big Gunns has lost both of his Gunns to Ball Python bites. Obviously he had 2 larger ones surgically attached as replacements.:D

It's nothing. Honestly, the mad "I'm cranky and in shed" bites are just surprising. My rescue girl was cranky and zipped out, bit me and sucked back into her hide before I even REALIZED I'd been bit! I sew and own cats and have stabbed myself much worse with needles or been bit and clawed up much worse than the snakes. They are FAST but that is about it. My rescue male thought i was food and constricted my hand a year ago. That left some bruises, but he was hungry and I was being dumb, ha ha! Use tongs and wash your hands and maybe you'll never have to worry about it. The constriction hurts a little bit, but i just doused him in cold sink water and he let go. Make sure you don't yank their teeth out of get water up their nose if it happens! You don't want to pay for a vet bill as well XD

It's a little spooky, but nothing compared to an angry cat scratch!

You asked for it :) She almost got all the way through my fingernail and left a nice scar on the bottom of my finger. My nail still has a dent in it!

Lol, he actually did get my vein. I had a pretty bruise and people who knew what it was from were all freaked out that my vein was infected, lol. Now if a cat had bit into my vein I would have been going to the doc the next day for antibiotics. A friend of ours was a day away from getting his vein surgically removed because of his inside cat!

I've been bitten twice in the last week, both were from honduran milksnakes. Didn't hurt at all. It felt like a needle prick & I didn't really bleed either.

I just got bit the other day and was so happy about it...lol. It was a juve amazon and I was so excited that it did not hurt what so ever. Just really really fast. I came home like I won a trophy, the hubby was cracking up. I was like...no I can't wash it off till I get a pic...lol:rolleyes:

All in all I can tell you a dog bite or an iguana bite is wayyyy wayyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyyyy worse!!

Re: Ahah getting bitten? so fearful
I have been bit 14 times this week alone all my fault. Not only by BP's either there were a few from boas and those are not fun when it is a 7 foot male who thinks you are his rabbit.... Ouch to say the least on that but the bites themselves are nothing from any of them even the big boy. My only complaint is when they coil and their teeth pull a lil on your skin that is the part I don't like at all. Other than that a little nip is nothing at all. My first reaction ever was priceless if you heard me you would have thought I was being killed in a meat grinder and then I looked and saw 3 lil drops of blood on my finger and felt like a baby. Since then I have realized I'm going to get bit no matter what I do so I might as well just get over it and take the bite and move on with my day lol.

It may help to let it bite you. I know this would normally not be advisable, but after you would realize that it really is not big deal. It shocks you more then hurts. I normally do not even know that they bit me until I see blood.
