We all loved Steve Irwin....well do it for him then.
Big Gunns was told that he should do some research....so guess what...he did.:P:D
If you don't want to help BG with his cause to save the Whales and Dolphins of the world....then do it for Steve.
Big Gunns thinks we can put to rest whether or not Steve Irwin supported Sea Shepherd once and for all. Well that is unless some of you may want to call his widow a "liar".
Steve Irwins death changed Big Gunns life FOREVER. RIP Steve. Big Gunns is not gonna let you down.

LOL.
I wonder if, THREE years later, Terry still feels the same about this clown and his posse.
It's good you FINALLY did some research there guppy.
It's pretty meaningless given the nature of watson's attacks now as compared to then, but it's a start.
Good Swimming little minnow.

Good Swimming little minnow.
The ship is still called the Steve Irwin right?
Why don't you "do some research" and find out how she feels?:D
If BG is not mistaken......again. What years did Sea Shepherd sink all those ships? After or before this????? BG will "do some research".:P
Not now though.....BG needs his beauty rest.
This "little minnow" is glad you approve of his "swimming" oh grumpy one.:D

Re: We all loved Steve Irwin....well do it for him then.
Well well well. Will you look what BG found before he got his beauty rest. If anything it would seem that Sea Shepherd has cleaned up their act from their old days.
Big Gunns is really starting to like "doing research". It makes it so much easier to prove he's always right.:D

Willy is gonna try as hard as he can to close this one. He wouldn't want to whole BP.net world to see how wrong he was now would he.:D
BG really just wants people to see how Steve felt.

You are just too darn cute.
Your adorable little antics remind me of when me son discovered how to arm pit fart. Oh, he must have been about three years old or so when he picked it up from his uncle.
I specifically recall the happy glint in his eye as he ran from room to room displaying his new talent to the entire family.
I fondly remember how he showed of his new big boy skill at the grocery store, restaurants and pre-school. Oh, my wife and I got tired of it pretty quickly and it was embarrassing, but he was just so dang proud of himself we found it hard to be mad at him.
He was so proud of what he could do!
I think it's so cute that even at your age, you take a toddler's simple delight in running around the forum braying about what a big and special boy you are. I could just pinch your little cheek!
What is this - the third or fourth thread about what a special and important little boy you are?
Seriously, I for one am very happy for you. Before you started spamming threads with your Paul Watson Fanboi praise, your only claim to fame was that you could get two very expensive snakes to have sex and produce another expensive snake. Yes, some people thought you special, but I've been around long enough to know that some of the biggest, most revered people in this hobby often have nothing going on in their lives but their interestingly colored snakes.
Wes and Jim may not see the forest for the trees but I do. Normally a grown man running about slobbering praise on a windbag, prima donna buffoon like Paul Watson would be seen as a bad thing. Not for you. For you, it's a real step up.
So Wes and Jim, let's recognize Kneel's accomplishment for what it is. An improvement of sorts. Lower your expectations from "adult" to "child" and see if these threads appear just a smidge less obnoxious and self-serving.
Think of it this way - when you are house training a puppy you think it a small victory when he craps on the floor in front of the back door instead of in the middle of the living room. Yes, he still pooped in the house, yes you still have to clean up the mess, and yes your other dogs may end up eating it before you can pick it up, but the very fact that the poop is a little closer to the back yard gives you hope that things are going to get better.
So on this dawn of a new day, here's hoping that Skippy's little baby boy posts another three threads about what special little man he is.

Skip, you're right.
I keep trying to think that he's an adult. Heck, I've seen him and even without the roids he's big enough to be treated like an adult.
But the mental aspect, that threw me. Some of his posts are so close to being good, so very very close, that I didn't realize it was just dumb luck. You know, like when a kid parrots something a parent said, having no idea the context, but nails it dead on in front of family and friends, all the while having no idea what just happened but LOVING the attention the happy mistake has brought.
Thanks for pointing that out. It does make more sense out of this tragic need for attention that our little swimmer seems to suffer.

Actually what BG did was run out the front door and screamed.."BG is right..BG is right"..."they are wrong...Big Gunns is the greatest".:banana:
Then he called everyone he knew and told them to read the post. After that he called the local newspapers just to let them know. Apparently they were already aware of it and were working on the story for their front page. After that he just kept answering the phone from reporters around the world(same as usual). Man it was one hectic day and night for BG.:D
Funny thing is, BG agrees with you and has stated the fact that who really cares if you can breed a couple good snakes. Well, some people care. The people who are mad that it wasn't them. Don't worry. BG thinks that should be the next thing BG should do. People say BG likes to brag...well maybe he should start posting some snake pics. Strange thing is...he rarely does. Kinda strange from someone that's "always looking for attention" huh?
As far as BG's "Paul Watson Fanboi praise". If you can read, it should be perfectly clear who BG "praises" the most for changing his life. That would be one Steve Irwin.
Do you guys have secret meeting and plan strategy for Big Gunns? If so, BG suggests you figure out something new....it ain't working.:P:D BG is getting much amusement from your feeble attempts though.:D

Yes you can when what you're trying to prove is what they did in the past before the ship was named the Steve Irwin. If you may recall Willy acted like they are now worse than before. Maybe you should understand the point BG was making before you comment on it. Just a thought.;):D

OK Willy, BG will fly to Cali tomorrow and we can both take tests to see who's on what. BG will pay for it all. Of course you reimburse him when he passes and you fail.;):D Must be great to live in Cali and be Willy.
BG is really sorry that you guys are obsessed with him. It must be a real pain in the you know what to constantly have to check the computer to see if your idol has responded. Everyone in your families can sleep better tonight knowing that Big Gunns has a team of scientists working on the cure for this pathetic disease you all seem to have. BG just isn't sure he wants you guys to have the cure. He loves you all.:D

Gentlemen - we've always said that we can't make people be nice to each other, and we try let threads evolve as they will as long as it doesn't get too ugly.
However, making serious accusations such as this, without proof, will not be tolerated and any further accusations in a similar vein will be infracted under general hostility.
On a personal note - not as a staff member - I don't understand that if another member works one up this much, why they come on to their threads like sharks to blood.
Carry on......

I've been lurking on all the threads big guns has posted lately. I guess what I don't understand is why stayed away for so long then he continuously starts thread after thread, knowing all the while that it's controversial topic and people are GOING to get riled up. He's clearly looking for the responses he will get from people, only to tear them apart (thinking he sounds smart but has no clue how stupid as he really sounds).
Didn't your parents ever tell you "don't react to your brother and he will leave you alone"?

But if this person is spouting lies, then someone has to let others know that lies are being told. Just because he says something does not make it fact. Illegal is illegal, but don't misuse that word for immoral. Illegal and immoral aren't necessarily the same. Japan is immoral in their actions (personal opinion), however they are not breaking any national or international laws, therefore they are not acting illegally.
This is my concern.

In BG's defense guys. He didn't start the original thread to start a wild fire. The others...maybe a leeetle...but not the first one.

Re: We all loved Steve Irwin....well do it for him then.
Would it be the same if Hindu Indians came to the USA and told us that we can't eat beef any longer? They shoot at ranchers, they use 4 wheel drive trucks to crash into the horses these cattlemen are riding. Then they go around and blow up the cattlemen's barns. They destroy the fences that hold the cattle. Would you allow that to happen in the US?
Kinda the same thing isn't it?
The Japanese culture is what is being attacked. If you want to change things in Japan, change the culture, don't sink ships, nor cut nets, or be a bother to the Japanese people. Make changes to the governing body that oversees these activities. Both the whales and dolphins have a governing body which dictates how many can be taken during the year. Make changes there.
That's all I've been saying.

Re: We all loved Steve Irwin....well do it for him then.
Talking to you is like beating a dead horse. All you do is come back with comments that you think are witty but they are really just annoying. The board was very peaceful over the last few months, only a few minor scuffles between new members and they apologized after realizing that we were just trying to help. Was it really necessary to come back and wreak havoc for your own amusement? People like you make me not want to be apart of this community. It seems like you call people names, not outright derogatory but offensive nonetheless, and don't get infracted for it but everyone else gets called out by the moderators and administrators for stupid slip ups. No warnings or anything, and here you are untouched after repeatedly calling everyone diseased with the BG sickness, making fun of wilomn's name. You are like a bully in junior high you makes up a "funny" nick name for someone and can't get in trouble because TECHNICALLY there's nothing wrong... Not breaking any rules.

Re: We all loved Steve Irwin....well do it for him then.
Care to address these Sea Shepherds' actions and tell me what side of the law these are on? Please try and make these actions law abiding. Blowing up a ship by using a mines, shooting at police officers while they are in rubber boats, threatening a delagate with death, because they didn't vote the way you wanted them to. Go ahead Neil, tell me how all of this is LEGAL.

1977: Watson establishes Sea Shepherd organisation. States that Sea Shepherd is not a protest organization. “We are [a] self-appointed policing organization given credibility by the terms of the United Nations Earth Charter of 1982.”
1978: Watson admits to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) programme As It Happens that his work is aimed at raising funds for his organisation, Sea Shepherd.
Watson: “You see, the seal is very easy to exploit as an image. We have posters, we have buttons; we have shirts ... all of which portray the head of the baby seal with tears coming out of its eyes. Baby seals are always crying because the salt tears keep their eyes from freezing. But they have this image of ... they are baby animals; they are beautiful. And because of that, coupled with the horror of the sealer hitting them over the head with a club, it is an image which just goes right to the heart of animal lovers all over North America.”
1979: A Sea Shepherd vessel rams the whaling vessel “Sierra”, causing considerable damage. “Sierra” survives attack.
1980: The IWC at its meeting in Brighton, United Kingdom, assigns high-level protection to two Canadian Government delegates after Watson threatened to kill them for voting against a moratorium on sperm whales. Delegates given Royal Canadian Mounted Police protection until their return home to Canada.
1980: The “Sierra” is sunk in Lisbon harbour. Sea Shepherd claims responsibility. Investigation shows limpet mines used to blow up the vessel.
1981: Sea Shepherd claims responsibility for the sinking of the two whaling vessels, Ibsa I and Ibsa II, in the Spanish harbour of Viga.
1983: Paul Watson and “Sea Shepherd” vessel engineer Paul Pezwick, tried and convicted in a Quebec, Canada, court for “interfering in the annual seal hunt in the Gulf of St. Lawrence”. Trial followed arrest in March 1983 when “Sea Shepherd” vessel boarded by Canadian police. “Sea Shepherd” fortified including electric barbed wire around the deck’s edges. Seventeen crew arrested. Watson and three others flee across ice to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, but caught and arrested. Watson charged additionally with piloting a ship in a dangerous manner, intimidation of the sealers and being unlawfully within a half mile of the seal hunt – a violation of the Seal Protection Regulations. Watson sentenced to 15 months imprisonment.
1983: In retaliation for Watson’s arrest by Canadian police, animal rights extremists slash car tires and spray paint slogans on walls of buildings in the inner city of Quebec. “Fisheries Murder Seals” and “Set Paul Watson Free” slogans spray painted on the Department of Fisheries and Oceans offices in Keele Street. Animal Liberation Front delivers letter to the Quebec Star newspaper admitting causing several thousand dollars worth of damage to the Department’s Keele Street offices.
1986: Sea Shepherd attempts to stop Faroe Islands pilot whale harvest. Using rifles, Sea Shepherd activists shoot at Faroe Islands police in an attempt to sink their rubber dinghies. The vessel “Sea Shepherd” was ordered to leave Faroese territorial waters. The police report of 7 October 1986 states: “One of the rubber dinghies was attacked directly by a “Speed Line” line rifle. The attack ... endangered the lives of the police crewmembers ... and signal flares containing phosphorous was thrown at the police. At a later stage the Sea Shepherd used “toads” (rotating iron spikes, pointed and sharp at both ends) against the rubber dinghies ... petrol was poured over the side of the ship and signal flares were thrown from the “Sea Shepherd” in an attempt to set the petrol on fire.”
1986: Sea Shepherd claims responsibility for the sinking of two whaling vessels in Reykjavik, Iceland, and for malicious damage to a whaling station. (This act of violence was carried out after Iceland stopped whaling in line with the IWC moratorium on commercial whaling.) Attack carried out by Sea Shepherd members Rodney A. Coronado and David Howitt. (Coronado linked to Animal Liberation Front and arrested eight years later by United States FBI for his part in an ALF attack on Michigan State University research laboratory. Charges included use of an explosive device, theft and arson.)
This is the first 10 years of the Sea Sherpherd Conservation Group. Sounds like a nice group of terrorists to me.

Your post addressed what? Care to comment on my post that you felt you needlessly responed to? I'm trying to discuss this matter somewhat intellegently. For some reason, I don't think that's a part of your agenda. Could you please state what national or internation laws the country of Japan is violating. I've heard you say it 1000 times, so please cite the laws they are violating.

So now BG has to debate this with the second worse case of BG sickness in the world????:rolleye2:
Many people have made the same point. However, they are in international waters when they are whaling. They are not ramming boats in Japanese waters. The Mammal hunters in Taiji were told that if they don't like some of the things that farmers do in the US....go and complain to them if you want. What did BG or anyone from Sea Shepherd do that was illegal in Japan? BG can make the same argument you've been making. If what Sea Shepherd is doing is so "illegal"....why no arrests for what they're doing in the Southern Ocean?
The "culture" argument has been used over and over. There are many things that were a part of some peoples "culture" that are no longer done. Fox hunting...and Bull fighting in some parts of the world has been stopped. They were clearly part of the "culture". It's the biggest obstacle there is really. They believe that their "culture" is being attacked...and BG understands it, but sometimes people need to change their "culture" for the good of Mother Earth.(corny but true)
Don't you owe BG some money for our bet?:D

They believe that their "culture" is being attacked...and BG understands it, but sometimes people need to change their "culture" for the good of Mother Earth.(corny but true)
Don't you owe BG some money for our bet?:D
Quoted from Yahoo News. None of these activities were in international waters. In fact, Japan was not a part of the attacks made by the Sea Shepherd group. So, do you have any information on these attacks and why are they not criminal? After all, many of your group was arrested while committing these crimes.
Quote:

Totally agree! It is not our waters, or our country. We shouldn't be allowed to interfere with there culture and fishing industry. We over fish our oceans surrounding the US everyday and we all know we should slow down but it's called supply and demand. It all comes back to money.

Clearly(BG loves saying that) those things are not "legal". Your sickness is so deep in your bones you don't get what BG is saying. You ask what Japan is doing that is illegal. BG's answer was "whaling". Now that can be argued BG agrees, but BG believes it is. However there is an argument from both sides...... BG will agree with you on that. Does this help you with your sickness at all?

In 1986 the IWC declared a moratorium on whaling. Japan is a member. Now since the IWC doesn't really have any "authority" to enforce it. It could be viewed that Japan doesn't have to abide by it. So whether or not they are "technically" breaking the "law" would need to be settled in court somewhere. Japan likes to say they say they are doing "scientific research". There are 2 arguments here. First..the whaling is done in the Southern Ocean...not Japanese waters. The Dolphins however are in Japanese waters and it's not illegal to take them. Your argument is sound, and BG totally understands your point. It is difficult to go to another country and ask them to change, but it's something BG and many Japanese believe also. So why is your group attempting to prevent them from carrying out their rights that are covered within government laws? No, no you can't. Idc what point you are trying to make. If you are going to be in anyway shape or form credible you can't. IF and only IF you had any form of education and/or intelligence you would know this.

Especially you, MitsuMike.
#1: BG is BG. That's THE WAY HE IS. Accept it or move on. We don't harp on you for having a big nose, stop harping on him for having a big head!
You know my sister sometimes irritate the crap out of me. But, I know that's just the way she is and there's really nothing I can do to change that. So, when we talk and she starts to irritate me, I take a big breath and weed out the message from the bullcrap. Because, the delivery might be stupid, but the message, usually, is not. So I can argue with her without resorting to petty insults!
#2: When BG puts on airs, we roll our eyes, laugh, or sigh in disgust... it's just part of being BG. When you spew insults like the post above, it just makes you sound stupid, because hey, that kind of bad-mouthing coming from a supposedly "better person" is not what we SEE YOU AS! You're better than that! Now, wilomn... that's the way he is. He can be acerbic but his posts are always literary genius. I just wish he would rise up to be the better man that he can be and leave the insults out of a thread that is dedicated to Steve Irwin. You can pick your BG battle on a "lighter" thread. There are some of us who take Steve Irwin and his causes very seriously.
Now, Jim Smith's posts... they're good... it's a serious rebuttal of BG's activities, not BG himself. It would be great if Robin would do his surgery again and take out the other ones that just whines about BG. But, Robin, I know you're going to sigh and say, Not again!
So, yeah, c'mon guys... we can be civil can't we?
Okay, PLAY.

My 2 cents on the cultural thing.
Jim, I'm kinda with BG on this one. For example, in the Philippines, the culture is such that you can't find a bird flying around outside of the thick forests. Why... because people shoot them on sight. When I was a little kid, my family would go visit the family farm in the mountains of Bohol (we live in the city, an entire day's trip from the farm) every summer. My brother would hike through acres of rice fields to get to the edge of the forest just to find a hawk. And when he sees one and talks excitedly about it, the local farmers would be quick to go to the edge of the forest the next day with their rifles.
It's cultural, you see. People are poor, especially in the farming town that they would shoot anything that has any potential of meat. Extinct or not. The smallest monkey - the Tarsier - is native to Bohol. Good luck finding them. They slipped into endangered species list because Filipinos take them for meat.
This culture needs to change and my family is fairly active in changing it. This is what my family is doing:
Nalusuan Island
My family is native to the town of Cordova. One of my uncles or cousins have been the mayor of that town since the early 70's. The Municipality of Cordova is very active in pursuing conservation efforts by empowering the population to choose responsible harvest practices. It is a mission that involves cultural change. If you look at the tab that says Vision-Mission-Goals, it outlines what we are trying to accomplish at Nalusuan. This is one of many efforts we are trying to accomplish to "change the culture" there.
Nalusuan is home to several species of fish, sea turtles, and birds, including the Philippine Eagle, most of which are on the endangered list. The hotel funds all these efforts. We partner with the Universities to do research etc, to provide sustainable livelihood to the local fishermen and hunters while educating them on conservation and responsible harvest. The message is simple: Just because you see a bird flying doesn't necessarily mean it needs to become a food source. We can farm birds to have a sustainable supply. And we will help you gain the skills to do so.
Okay, I do agree with you that there is a much better way to change Japanese culture than what the Sea Shepherd is doing. We have done it in Nalusuan. It is a success. But, a change in culture is necessary to save the Dolphins.
Little Factoid: Nalusuan means Land of the male genitalia. :D:D

This.
My comment here will not be on the topic at hand. It will be be directed at a chosen few.
If you can't get your point across without throwing repetitive insults around it makes you look weak.
If you feel the need to insult an entire group of people with comments such as the "Ringer" comment above it makes you look even weaker.
Some people can debate a nice clean debate, and some have to immediately stoop to a lower level. Those that stoop to the lower level of a debate will rarely win one and are in danger of making themselves look like children.

All of the last few posters have points. Some on top of their well meaning heads, but points nonetheless.
This was never about Steve. Never.
So let's not fool ourselves into thinking it was. Base your behavior on the facts.
While some of you may not have had enough of bg's crap, some of us have. You go on and be all nicey nicey if you like and feel free to voice your opposition to those of us who don't feel the same need.
Like Schools of Martial Arts, we may not do things the same way, but most of us have the same goals in mind. Success should sometimes be measured by the outcome, not how nice the form used to achieve it.
Sometimes nice just won't do. Sometimes you just don't have any desire to be nice. And there's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes. This is most assuredly one of those times. If a fish is foolish enough to ask you to kick it in the gills over and over, is it wrong to do as asked? No one said to the fish, "come here fish, I want to kick you in the gills."
The fish asked, the fish got. If you don't like fish, isn't there a dead horse somewhere around here looking for attention?

It's funny that Indonesia is so much similar to the Philippines. I kinda figured it was, but from your posts I realize just how similar it is. It's great that you're doing what you're doing. I would say something BG has been up to for a while now, but obviously that will only seem like "bragging". Also, there's no real need for anyone here to know at this point. People that know me best know that I'll only say something if I feel it's important to what I'm trying to achieve. Dang it. This will still seem like bragging to the sick ones. Oh well.:taz:
Keep up the good work in the Philippines.:gj:

If you can't get your point across without throwing repetitive insults around it makes you look weak.
If you feel the need to insult an entire group of people with comments such as the "Ringer" comment above it makes you look even weaker.
Some people can debate a nice clean debate, and some have to immediately stoop to a lower level. Those that stoop to the lower level of a debate will rarely win one and are in danger of making themselves look like children.
BG has to agree.:gj:

Well well well...will you look at that statement. Success should sometimes be measured by the outcome, not how nice the form used to achieve it BG thanks you for that statement. BG will be sending it to Sea Shepherd so they can put it on the front page of their site. It's GREAT and is exactly what BG thinks they believe. You see BG said "thinks" because BG can't speak for them. He is not a member of Sea Shepherd. BG only supports some of their causes. Taiji being one of them.
"Martial arts".:rofl::rofl: BG is really scared now.:rofl::rofl:

He's easy and funny and sad all at the same time. And he asks for it. Loudly and often.
I'm well aware of my flaws. Sticks and ants are one of them.
BG ain't gonna "run" anywhere from somebody like you. Now he may have to leave to do another "top secret mission", but no way he's gonna "run".:P

Re: We all loved Steve Irwin....well do it for him then.
Oh wow...I have been reading a few days now without commenting...but I felt like saying something. I'm the peace making, nice kinda guy. We all do good things in life, some outweigh others, but there is good in all of us. I know MANY people that want to be observed for their good deeds, bragged on, patted on the back, etc. I know many people that do good things and are satisfied with just knowing they are doing good, like me. BG is doing something good, maybe he wants a pat on the back, maybe he just wants to bring attention to a cause, who knows? My point here is BG himself. He is VERY annoying, I used to feel the same way most of you do about him...until I spent the most part of a weekend with him!! He is just as annoying in person, and he does refer to himself in 3rd person, in person :P But...Bigg Gunns is a decent guy with a good heart. He sat and talked with me and shared some of his ball python experience with me, he flirted with my wife, and tried to teach my 16 year old son how to pick up chicks...although he ended up learning some lessens from the young buck :D He has an obvious love for the animals he works with. He has since then called me on occassion to just talk, check on me and make sure I was ok. He was a lot of help to me personally, most of you know I lost my right arm in an auto accident 2 years ago, we have talked for hours just him trying to help me figure out ways to do things easier and more efficient (with one hand). I have called him for advise, or just a pick me up, he always answers his phone is is willing to help me. He's not a bad guy. If you want to trash his ways then I understand...but before you attack him personally, get to know the man, the myth, the legend in his own mind. LOL. He's alright in my book...even if he is annoying as hell!!!

Postal money order is in the mail good buddy.:D
By the way, if BG doesn't pick up the phone for any of his fans....he's probably on one of his "top secret missions".:D
ps. The funny thing is. Big Gunns good friends have no clue who Big Gunns is. Not a clue. It's only snake people.....and now the people of Taiji Japan. However, soon it will be THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!
