I have one of the above, what do you think distinguishes the SC line of pastel from the others? I've never seen a SC Pastel without YB in it, so I have no idea.

Yeah the Pastel Yellowbelly strikes me as the best guess, but it could also just be a very pretty Pastel.

I'm not sure I understand your question? You have what of the above?
I've really only seen SC YB's as well.

That kind of was my question. I have a SC Pastel YB and didn't know if you saw something specific in the picture to make you think it was a SC Pastel YB. :) Just trying to understand if there was a specific trait that Santa Cruz Pastels have.

The pattern looks like a mojo with the yellows of a pastel! Not saying that is what it is! Very cool looking!
-
i would say firefly or the hottest pastel i've ever seen...
i wouldnt kno if anything else was going on outside of the bright yellows and the dark blacks.... i don't see any YB. :weirdface

I'm seriously surprised that no one has said super pastel yet. I'm going to give this until about noon tomorrow and then I'll tell you all.
Keep the comments coming and thanks to those of you who have commented already.

Believe it or not I was told when I purchased her that she was just a plain pastel. I'm finding it very hard to believe as she doesn't look like any pastel I've ever seen. I wish I could say she was a pastel spotnose or pastel yellowbelly or any double gene mutation for that matter, but the truth is I have to go by what I was told until I prove otherwise.
Thank you all for commenting and playing along, it is very much appreciated.

Re: What do you think?
Do you have a belly shot?
If you don't mind, I'll post a pic of my Santa Cruz line Pastel Yellow Belly ( like rabernet mentioned ) and they look really similar.

Who did you get her from? Feel free to PM me if you don't feel comfortable posting it here on the forum.

I don't mind at all telling you where she came from. The breeder of this female is Terry Heuring, who sold the entire clutch to a good friend of mine Kyle. I traded Kyle a 500+ gram female lemon pastel for this pastel and $200. When I saw her I just had to have her. The same day that I worked the deal with Kyle I approached Terry with the animal and double checked what Kyle had told me (about her being a regular pastel). Terry said "The sire was a pastel and the dam was a wild caught female, that to my knowledge is just a normal". I take anything Terry says very seriously as he is one of the foremost breeders in Alabama and has been breeding for 20+ years. However, whatever is going on in this girl it sure makes for a stunning pastel (at least in my opinion).

I just wonder if the WC was a ugly vanilla or fire. How did the rest of the clutch look?
I remember awhile back someone was sold a "normal" pastel and found out later the breeder made a mistake and it was actually a vanilla pastel. Looked very similar to your girl.

I was gonna say super pastel, great looking snake no matter what it is:D

I only saw the other pastels from the clutch, but none of them looked at all like she does. They were very yellow also, but they didn't have faded heads like hers or the orange blushing coming up the sides.
I'll post some pictures later this evening of her belly.
