    View from a Back Yard
Thought I'd share some pictures from the backyard. I just can't get tired of the view! Apparently the snow is running late this year, so we haven't had any. When we finally get some, I'll add some winter views, too.

Here's the somewhat unkempt garden...if you look closely, you can see my dog going about her rounds. This is shortly after we moved in...the previous tenants had left the grass in pretty sad condition.

Plains to the east...lots of cows in the field...sometimes they come right up to the back fence, but not often.

    Pike's Peak to the west...

    A storm...

    Dawn mists...

Balloons that often float over and land in nearby fields...

    Rainbows...

    Love my kitchen window!

This spectacular rainbow literally landed right behind our house...that pot of gold was SO close!!!

Thanks for letting me share! Love my back yard!

I know I'll be heart broken when it's time to move on. The positive side is there's a good chance we'll be stationed back here again someday. But, I've got a couple years here first to enjoy!

Thanks! The sides of the yard are terraced at different levels and she loves leaping up and down the walls and patrolling the fence line, weaving in and out of the bushes along the fence...it's her own personal little obstacle course.

She senses stuff out in the field too, and sometimes barks like mad at something entirely invisible to me. And she'll bark at the cows if they get close enough that we can hear them moo'ing. And sometimes I think she just barks at the moon! :rolleye2:

Haha...yeah, I remember that most Tucson yards aren't real dog-friendly! Our last house there had a little patch of grass in the back yard, but most of it was all terraced stone gardens and a pool. Fortunately no cactus. But we also didn't have a dog there, either. The first thing my goof would probably try to do in an Arizona yard would be to squeeze between two cacti blocking her way. :O I do think she'd only do that once, though!

Thanks! We're only renting this one. But so far, Colorado Springs is heading the top of the list of potential places to retire to. Have yet to experience a winter here, though...already cold all the time and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! I'll let y'all know in the spring if Colo Sprgs is still at the top of the list. :P

If so, I DO intend to find a house with a view of both the plains and the mountains! It's the best of all worlds!

Hehe...I've no doubt, and can't wait to see the snow. But it remains to be seen how well we'll tolerate the cold and the icy driving conditions. We're not used to real winters.
