One insane friday night.
Alright, so, has any of you ever been stalked? Or followed, I guess this would go more out to the women then men, but either way.
Check this out. So, myself & my roomate go out dancing and bar hopping every friday/saterday night. We are at our normal bar, when my friend tells me that there is a guy across the bar that has been staring me down. So I look over, and he looks really familier. I realize this guy used to be good friends with my brother in law, and used to hang out with us all the time when I was like 13. I immediatly texted my brother in law telling him & he called me telling me to not go anywhere alone and to stay with a lot of people.
This guy, just got out of prison for beating his wife with a baseball bat. Assaulting 3 police officers, and breaking all the windows on the cops cars with a crow bar. He's 34 years old, and hasn't had his drivers licence in 10 years.
So we paid for our tab, and quickly went to leave the bar when someone grabs my arm and I hear "Wow, laura you've grown up". I just looked at him, said uh.. thanks and walked quickly out the door. Next thing I know, we are in the bar we go dancing at and there he is following us in. I told the bouncer we are buddies with to watch him. We go upstairs, start dancing and I look over and he's standing at the edge of the stairs in the corner like a CREEPER just staring at me with his arms crossed. Really, really freaky. So I snuck off to the bathroom, and called my brother in law who said that his brother was coming out to the bar to confront him.
I come out of the bathroom and get pushed up against the wall by him, i looked him in the eyes and told him that if he didn't move, and he touched me one more time that his face was going to get re-arranged because Brent was coming for him. He laughed at me, backed off and went back downstairs. Ten minutes later I notice all the bouncers running downstairs, so I went down and yeah... i seen about 7 men trying to pry brents hand off this guys neck. He had him slammed up agianst the door.
Eventually, everything settles down and the guy gets kicked out. Brent comes over, talks to me for a bit making sure we're okay and he leaves.
Crazy, crazy night. That and some drunk dude head butted me while attempting to dance.

Re: One insane friday night.
Wow! What a creepy guy! Hope he never bothers you again. No one ever has the right to physical push or restrain someone. Definitely call your local police department an file a complaint. He might be violating prole or something. Plus, if others have had problems with him that were reported he may be locked up again.
Oh, and a cop friend told me if you ever have suspicion that there is someone stalking you or watching your house, let the cops know and they will do drive-bys periodically.

I honestly don't want to get involved with anything with him, if he tries anything else I am sure he'll be getting a visit from my brother in law & his brother. Who mind you, they are all very large men. Ha. I wasn't completely sure if he drove himself or not, because if he did I could have called the cops on him since he doesn't have a drivers licence. The house I live at now, we share a driveway so we live back behind another house in the forest. But I am moving to an apartment here soon.

Re: One insane friday night.
About 8 years ago I actually had a guy come in my house looking for me. I was in my room with the door locked and heard him come in the back door. I just stayed quiet. Don't think he was going to try anything but you never know. Scared the crap out of me. Later my dad threatened him and chased him way form the house, never saw him again! I love my dad!

Re: One insane friday night.
That's a big reason why bars are retarded. I'd rather stay home and have friends over drinking anyday of the week.
-
Re: One insane friday night.
wow ... that's a pretty crazy story. Hope you don't run into him anymore. Your brothers can't always come to take care of it..
Carry any mace? haha

Re: One insane friday night.

Right now i'd rather not be at home, otherwise I would. When I get my place soon i'm sure we'll party there more often.

I hope I don't either, and the only reason he would persue to follow me around is he KNOWS that it would piss off my brother in law. I don't want them taking care of me, I can usually handle it myself but it's different when you actually know the person doing it. I have a baseball bat in my car, and mase.

I know this is going to sound REALLY stupid, but I know of a product better than mace or pepper spray. It cost less, isn't mandated by any law (local or federal) and is effective out towards 20 feet or more.
The product/weapon.....Wasp Spray.
Look it up , it's better than any self defense spray, shoots further too. Keep a can of it in your home. You can shoot it far enough that the perp isn't too close and isn't really immediately dangerous because they are 20 feet away instead of 5-8 feet needed for pepper spray.
This is real, no joke!

the only problem with that is probably the size they sell it in. Unless they have a reallllllly small can. It wont really be effective if you have to take a huge spray can out of your bag to catch someone by surprise. But ya, if there's small cans, looks good.. haha

Re: One insane friday night.
That a very unsettling story my friend....
Nothing a Lady Baretta couldn't handle....but thats me:rolleyes:
My only concern is, is there a chance that you could run it to him again? Men like this can be unstable and become really resentful. I hope he never tries to harm you out of retaliation.:O
Stay safe....;) You have a whole arsonal of BP.net'ers that are not playin' with him;) (No threat intended);)

Yeah, there is a chance I could run into him agian. He lives around the bars I go to. I just hope that he is smart enough not to come around me agian after this weekend, but like you said.. some people are unstable. I'll do my best to be careful! I know a lot of people on here got my back, i love you guys!

I really don't know, lol. & trust me Mikey you don't want to pay this guy a visit. He isn't a nice person, he's a big dude and not someone you want to get involved with. Everything is fine now.

I can gauranty you your brothers are scary to you, but, to a guy who has been in prison they are probably a joke. Not to mention, if you love your brothers why would you want to put them in harms way? I would do what was suggested by somebody else and call the police. If this guy is capable of turning on the police and beating his wife, what makes you the exception? Just saying...Chose your battles wisely. Hope it works out.

No I know what you mean, I have told my brother in laws that if I was to run into him agian, and this situation occured I would be calling the police before anything. I wouldn't put them in harms way, but either way if I tell them something happened they always try to take matters into their own hands.

Re: One insane friday night.
it simpleto remember 3 things I learned if they can't breath, see ,or walk you havea chance to get away(so striaght for the eyes, knees and throat for self defense), yelling will get you help (really fast if the bouncers know your voice and are on their job. I can also guantee that if a requested a dozen or more of us are capable of making the issue in hand vanish. :D
I may be no good in a fight but I got plenty of time to plan things as needed and know many persons that can lose cargo if needed lol..

Re: One insane friday night.
Be careful with all of this self help stuff. They used to teach a woman to take the palm of her hand and trust it into the nose of the assailant. Then they realized, that if it wasn't done properly, all you did was give the guy a bloody nose. Then they realized that when certain men see blood, they can go even more crazy.
You situation is a very serious situation and one that should not be taken lightly. Remember, the cops are there to take the report once the crime occurs. They are not there to prevent the crime. Unlike what some think, it is up to you to prevent someone from harming you.
I would not go anywhere by yourself. Having a guy tag along would be a good idea, but anyone is better than being alone. When walking to your car, have the keys in your hand, open the door, get in and lock the door as soon as you can. You can also use your keys as a weapon, Place the largest key between your middle and ring finger, while grasping the key ring in your closed fist. Stike using the key as a punch.
Please be careful!

Some people just have no common sense. You will be the first person the cops call if something happens...

You are right Jim. The cops are here to take reports after the crime takes place. But, in a case like this where the perp. is on parole he will be stopped as soon as his parole officer hears about the assult he already made on her. If you use the system the right way it can be used to stop crime before it happens at a degree that is out of control.

I am aware about the key between the fingers technique, as punching someone correctly in the nose. This past weekend, on saterday when we went out we had one of the bouncers walk us out to the car after it closed. My best friend isn't 21 yet, so he can't come out with us. But I will make sure we start having a few more guys come out, it's normally just myself & my roomate.
I will be careful, and a lot more cautious. I guess I need to stop being so nice to people, apparently they mistake it for that i'm either interested or they are just the type of person to take a signal wrong. Then agian, in this situation I knew the guy already so that's different. But normally that is usually how I end up having someone following me around at the bar.

I got what you mean't, it is very true. Just sometimes everything happens so fast you don't have time to retaliate. You just have to try and be ready for anything pretty much.

That's all good. I'm just worried that no matter who you have around you, it only takes one time where you're alone, that a mad man like this guy can inflict harm.
All too many times, even people with restraining orders have been hurt or worse, by someone like this guy. He's unstable and what you and I would understand as a siomple yes or no, he may not. I don't know how bad the situation was at the bar last weekend, but I hope he's learned his lesson and has moved on, but if not, you could be in danger.
Please be careful!

Very true, thanks Jim.
That night was probably the worst it's ever gotten when I've had someone following me around. And I do hope that it does not repeate itself, i'll try to have someone with me at all times. You just never know with those kind of people.
