Diet time for Boanerges....
Okay, as much as I like being big I was/am just carrying around too much fat now. If you look at my profile pic you can see what I was looking like. I was weighing in at 284 lbs before I decided to start dieting. Today I weighed in at 257 lbs. So i have lost 27 lbs so far :salute: I lost the 27 lbs simply by eating less then what I would normally eat. Come Monday I will start watching what I eat, calorie counting, cardio etc. Monday is when I will get really serious about all this. My goal weight is to be 225 lbs by my birthday which is September 24. That gives me roughly 14 weeks left to lose 32 lbs which will give me a grand total of 59 lbs lost and put me at my personal goal weight of 225. My problem is not losing the weight as I have a ton of will power and I have bulked up and slimmed down all my life at my choosing (which isn't really good for you to do). You can see what I look like at 225 if you look in my gallery pics. My issue is whenever I lose the weight I eventually become unhappy that I am that size and I decide to bulk up again. It is a never ending cyle for me :rolleye2: Anyways, I am on my weight loss cycle now and I will post updates on my progress and how I am doing. Good luck to all my other BP.net weight loss people!!! I hope you are all doing well in your goals :gj:

Thanks!! I would have to corner someone at this point though because if they ran there is a good chance I am not catching them. I have not run outside or on the treadmill in quite a long time :( The lack of cardio is also a reason my weight creeped up. I am anxious to see how long it takes me to run a mile on Monday. I am guessing it will take me around 15 minutes. Hopefully not longer then that...

P90X - I been doing it for 2 months now to get ready for basic training. I'm a skinny guy....and with eating right and following the DVD's, I've put on some muscle and I notice a difference all around.
Also look it up on YouTube - you'll see lots of positive feedback.
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
Good luck! I need to start getting serious about my diet. It's been hectic lately! But I did catch the flu and lost 3 lbs! I think I should start to catch the flu every month!
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
Good Luck!
I have lost 14lbs just from watching my calorie in take and portion size. Now I need to hit the treadmill. Another member mentioned the PX90, it is intense. Once I loss a few more lbs I will be starting that program.
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....

Congrats on your results Nate!! It does look like a really good program but it is $40 a month for 3 months :( I am just going to stop lifting heavy and raise my reps up into the 10-12 rep range (possibly 15 rep range) and start my cardio and boxing. My wife just graduated with her RN and she just has to take boards so I am hoping if I get down to the 220 lb range we will have extra mony so I can start going to mma classes again. We are trying to save for a house so even if we have the extra money I still might not be able to go back but we will see.

It is funny you said the flu thing. Not long ago I got a stomach virus that was probably the worst I ever had in my life. It was so bad I almost went to the hospital so the could put me on fluids. I told my wife too bad I couldn't have caught it while I was dieting. But beleive me I DO NOT want it back for anything!!! I would have just rather of had it now then back then.

I lost my first portion of weight just by cutting back what I was eating to. I was eating so much that it really was not that hard to cut back the amount of food I was eating a day. Now I have to watch what I eat and count my calories. Congrats on losing your 14 lbs :gj:

Pat!!! What up bro!!! Where you been at? You lost 35 lbs. Congrats :gj: You did'nt look at all heavy to me in the first place!!! At 6 foot and 155 lbs I would doubt you got much if any more fat to get rid of - lol
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
And just so everyone knows, if you are looking in my gallery to see what I looked like at 225 lbs the pic you are looking for is the pic of me and my youngest son. NOT the pic where I am wearing the royal Q t-shirt. That pic was from this winter and I am obviously not 225 lbs in that pic - lol. Just wanted to put that out there just in case there was any confusion :gj:
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
hey, congrats on the weight loss so far!
first, looking at you and im assuming your goals I dont think p90x is right for you.
and I would NOT stop training heavy and increase cardio. pick some days were you train in the higher rep range but for the most part continue to train heavy and with intensity and make the changes to your diet before ramping up training.
Our goal is to maintain muscle so what do think is going to happen if you increase your volume and reduce cals? and you want to loose weight pretty quick so my suggestion is to make changes to your diet and just cut back a bit on the training volume and keep intensity high.
plug in cardio only as you see fit. to much cardio and high rep training and your lift numbers will take nice drop lol
good luck!

I started my training today. I lifted, boxed then I did my running (well what I could run anyways). Didn't feel like waiting for Monday. I did my weight training reps in the 8 rep range. I am not going to do the 12-15 range. Changed my mind on that as it really just is not for me. I have changed up my diet drastically since I made this post. I can't really mess with my diet and eat too much until I level out at my goal weight. Right now I am just making sure I eat enogh protein to keep my body in a positive nitrogen balance. Once I get to where I need to be I can tweek everything if you know what I mean. It is what works for me personally. And sadly the amount of weight I will be able to lift will drop for awhile because of the drastic lowering of the calories, and the added boxing and running. I am aware of it and it always happens so it is not really too big of a concern for me. I am naturally strong but cardio is my weak spot so I really need to hammer my cardio even though my strength will drop. Luckily my strength will be pretty easy for me to get back up to par once I get to my goal weight and I can really tweek my training/ calories etc :gj:
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
I forgot to post how I did running today:
The first mile:
I fast walked 1/4 mile then I ran 1/4 mile then I fast walked 1/4 mile then I ran the last 1/4 mile and I finished the first mile in 13:35
The second mile:
I fast walked 3/4 miles and ran the last 1/4 mile. My time finishing the 2nd mile was at 29 mins even.
The third and last mile:
I fast walked this whole mile as it was the best I could do. Finished all 3 miles in 46:10
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....

Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
Diet time for me is over!!! My wife told me last night that she really does not want me fighting again so I really see no need for me to keep dropping the weight. I personally like being big better. A lot of of what had me wanting to lose the weight was the thought of if I started mma again if I was walking around at 220 lbs I would only have a 15 lb. weight cut to fight at 205. Now, my wife is a super cool chic and if I really sat down and talked all this over with her she would let me do it but if I told her I really was noyt comfortable with her doing something I would hope she had enough respect for me to just not do it and not try to talk me into allowing her to do it. So since it looks like no mma in my future at the moment I would rather walk around as a big dude benching 400+ and picking up 600-700 lbs as opposed to cutting the weight and walking around slimmer at 225. Just personal preference. I will continue to to watch what I eat to an extent but no more hard core dieting. I am going to keep boxing at home as that is what I like to do and obviously I will continue to lift only I will start lifting heavier now with lower reps. Thank you every one for the support!! It was appreciated :salute:
Re: Diet time for Boanerges....
I've been doing one week of real heavy weight and low reps followed by a week of low weight high reps. It's been working awesome! I was 130lbs last October and I'm 5'11". Now I'm up to 175 and my bench has went from about 140-275. I've also noticed my curl weight has went from about 25lbs per arm to 60lbs per arm. I'm definitely on a nice bulking cycle though and the results of my training program I've created are still blowing my mind. Actually gonna go hit the weights now. Glad to hear you're going to keep hitting the weights hard too! :)
