she shed but....
hey everyone, well anne b. shed yesterday but to me she does not look gravid any more. she looks like she lost a little weight, unless i'm just used to looking at her. so is this normal or i might as well just give up. here's a pic, not the best but so you can get an idea of what i'm trying to describe. thanks for the advice.

Re: she shed but....
Don't give up hope. She could be holding eggs. I know you've seen posts that say: I didn't even know she was gravid.
She looks big enough to be hiding some eggs in her.

Re: she shed but....
It's hard to tell by the pictures, but does it look like her spine is sticking out little (ridge-back)? As the eggs grow, they push up on the spine causing it to stick out a little. Her laying in a perfect coil is a good sign. Watch to see if she continues to do this (and if she begins to put her tail inside of the coil).

She looks good.
The wait makes us question their progression, I understand your pain

I completely agree with the above, i missed one of my girls ovy and the only reason i knew she was gonna lay was she wouldnt move from her hot spot and was in a perfect coil and as she got closer to laying her tail was smack dab in the middle. op Good luck!!!!:gj:

Re: she shed but....
thank you all for the advice, good luck and for calming me down...LOL. she does have a slight ridge back look, maybe thats what making me think she is losing weight. the suspense is killing me...

Re: she shed but....
Don't know anything about breeding but love the coil picture :)

Re: she shed but....
Not that I know anything about breeding but she does look a little wavvy in the back. Like the lumps I see in other pics....just not as big as some.
Ok ....hope that made sense...in my head it did but then again....:weirdface....lol

Re: she shed but....
While the female is making eggs she actually loses weight and it goes into the eggs..Sometimes you can see it in the first half of her..

Re: she shed but....
I weighed my girl about a week before she laid and she had lost 100 grams. A several weeks ago when I picked her up you could really tell she had eggs because they all slid down her body towards her tail.
This is what she looked like while I had her picked up about a month ago

This is was what she looked like a couple days before laying

Really good pictures! :P :) I would wait, you never know, and with the spine sticking and and her weight records, it sort-of seems like it! Good luck! :gj:

I hated to bother her too, but the first time was to change the substrate and the second was just to bother her and weigh her. Also to give her an ear full about how I felt about her being so late!
Well if she looks like that first picture I'd say you are good! :gj:

Re: she shed but....
I noticed the same thing after their POS. like another guy previously stated, alot of their body weight goes into those eggs. I also think that they look thinner because the swelling from ovulation has dissapeared. It's just our head messing with us:P But good luck with her and I hope she gives you a nice clutch!:gj:
