Re: Have I mentioned?
Those are cool! I first saw them on some TV show about an electronics convention. They had alot of concept stuff. Im still using my Samsung Sync LOL

Re: Have I mentioned?
You will love it, I had a blackberry storm and traded it in for the droid. I totally blows the storm away.

Re: Have I mentioned?
And some lucky ducks won the "lottery" and Verizon had a glitch that sent out some Incredibles out early on Monday to folks who pre-ordered and they got them yesterday. Not me though....sigh......
Got my pre-order in Monday as well. I've waited for the RIGHT Verizon smartphone to come along to finally swallow paying for a data plan. Like the iPhone, but like Verizon Wireless more.

Re: Have I mentioned?
Awesome! That will be one long wait, but maybe I'm just impatient:rolleyes:
I only have the Motorola Rival, it's my second phone as well http://deiwireless.com/motorola-riva...pdi%5B1%5D.gif
I had a black Razr for 2 years and that phone went through a lot, I even dropped it in a toilet:O

Re: Have I mentioned?
My buddy has one he loves it. He was showing me all the applications it has and it's pretty neat.
My phone is just a phone though. Not sure I'd need all the other stuff. I feel like such a fogey.

Re: Have I mentioned?
yeah yeah yeah.....;)
Click the link in Robin's post above and it's light years ahead of the Droid. I'm a jealous geek.....but you already knew that:)

Well, you KNOW that you're the one who told me WWWD! :D
And the cool thing? If an even better phone comes out in the next year, Karl's line is due for an upgrade (even though we upgraded it in Nov, somehow it didn't register, and I even told them that on Monday - but they just left it as is).
So I can upgrade for another new phone at 2 year pricing, so no buyer's regret a year from now for not waiting! LOL
Karl's so blissfully UN-technical that his new flip phone will keep him happy for YEARS!

I remember! I've had such bad luck with the voyager. Right now my internal screen either doesn't come on or what I like to call "scratches out" where the screen just goes all crazy and I can't see anything. I'm jealous of your luck with the phone. I drop mine once (after it's been replaced 3 times) and the internal screen glitches like mad!

Re: Have I mentioned?

Will do! It's getting some pretty freaking INCREDIBLE reviews by those that got sneak previews of it!

I liked this quote in the link below:

After an afternoon with the HTC Droid Incredible, looking at our iPhone screen was like going from Nintendo 64 to NES.

Re: Have I mentioned?
I do think my sister's Droid is awesome.
But after multiple, big problems with my Voyager I'm not a huge fan of touch screen at all.

Re: Have I mentioned?
The quality of the capacitive screen on the Droid is much better than the Voyager. It's also Gorilla glass I believe, so they don't scratch up easily.

My Voyager has been problem free - but I can't wait for my Incredible - the type of touch is completely different.

Re: Have I mentioned?
You will LOVE Android! Like anything new it takes a bit of learning but man...LOVE IT!
A few app suggestions:
AppBrain - really makes searching for apps easy, it syncs your phone app list to your pc too.
Astro file manager - a nice little tool for backups and sd file
Shazam - music tag, works well
Ringdroid - make your own ringtones and notifications
AK notepad - nice, simple little notepad
Those are just some that I like. Have fun with the apps though! haha
I have a Droid and don't know how I lived without it all these years!
OH...see if you can wrangle a Google Voice number too, free texting! Whoot! It does a lot more than that but that's the main draw for me :)

It is Gorilla Glass and it's really durable. Very responsive too. It's also very easy to see in bright sun, something the Incredible may have an issue with...or so I've read.

The Incredible is an AMOLED display and they are not as good in direct sunlight. If you kick the brightness up a little it's ok. The quality of the display is well worth that small sacrifice though.
I love Gorilla glass, btw.

Do YOU have a Google Voice invite? wink, wink, wink......
But I do have unlimited texting on my plan.

Re: Have I mentioned?
I don't, I won mine in a dorky contest on androidforums.com and my son got his from a friend of a friend. I've seen them for sale on ebay though, $2 or so, worth it.
I was paying $15/month for my son's and my texting, I am going to cancel that at the end of this billing cycle. We are on a family plan but it was cheaper to add texting to 2 lines than go unlimited but...no more! lol. Rather have the money in my pocket than Verizon's!
