female het for pied price?

what would be ballpark price for a female het for pied cost?Im thinking of picking up a baby at the next show...thanks

It's all going to depend on the age of the snake, whether or not it is already a proven breeder and the percent of "het-ness". The best thing to do would be to check out the classifieds at Kingsnake.com or FaunaClassifieds.com and see what people are selling the various het pieds for...

Also, whether or not the seller can provide papers certifying it as het will affect the price...

I think a het pied female baby is going to run you in the 300 range.

Regardless of the price, please, please make sure that whoever you buy it from gives you paperwork and pictures AND hopefully, you trust them very much!

Thanks, Yes i would only buy from a big time breeder...I got a female het for albino this weekend at the white plains show from brian at bhb .Was looking 4 het pied but did not see any.

350-400 is about the right range.

Breed two hets, what are your odds?

Definitely not made of money, so hets may be my best shot for ever owning a pied, or saving money on an albino...

Last time I saw BHB listed some female het pieds on their website, they were actually very well priced. About $200 for babies. I got mine for $250 shipped. Don't have papers, but trust the guy, and she has markers.

An '09 or '10 baby will probably be only 300-500. (less if it's 66% het, more if it's 100% het.)
Only buy from reputable breeders so you know you're getting what you paid for.

If you have a male breedable piebald, produce your own hets.

Depends on if it's Recessive, codom or dom. Do a search on genetics here and I thihk you will find your answer.

Het pied x Het pied will give you a 25% chance per egg of it being a visual, or 1 in 4 thought it doesn't always cut perfectly even like that. you could luckout and get several visuals or be just the opposite and get none. All in the luck of the draw.

so if two het albinos give me a 1/4 shot, what do two albinos give you? 2/4?

I think if you breed two albinos together you just get albinos. If you did get any normals, they would be 100% het albino.

A visual to a 100% het should give you a 50/50 clutch.
100% het to 100% het gives you a 1/4 chance with all the normals being 66% het
A visual to a visual gives you all visuals..
