Have you heard or seen this before?
I fed my pastel ball python which is a 08 at 805 grams empty 4 mice. The next 2 days she was wrap around her water bowl is this normal? I've seen pregnant snakes do this.i am 100% sure she is not pregnant since she has never been around a male. Could it be she ate to much? Thanks.
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
im guessing maybe she ate too much and is feeling a little uncomfortable and is unable to ball up. Did you feed her live or f/t?
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
I fed her live. Switching her over to f/t small rats.

4 mice? I hope you weighed them out dude.
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
at that size 2 adult mice is plenty of food. When over fed they will sometimes seek coolness to relieve the pressure of the large meal, and sometimes regurge it.
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
Purplepython 29,20,28,25 grams total 102 grams. She poop already and i will never do that again. She seems cool after the dump. Two mice do not give her a lump and she is truly bias aganist rats. What should i do? Get a live mouse and shake and bake it in a bag with a thawed out small rat to give the rat a mouse scent?

NEVER feed ball pythons to the point of a bulge in there stomach. I have 3000g females only fed 80g rats and gain weight like weeds.
Your power feeding and need to cut it down to 40g per feeding.
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
Richsball thanks alot! Im glad she did not regurge it. The coolness part u hit right on the head. I notice she stayed away from the warmer part of bin. Will never do that again! Thanks again.
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
4 mice for 800grams seems like a lot. How big are these mice? The reason you go to a bigger prey size is because the mice will literally sit in the snakes throat and not get to the belly. I don't know how serious it is though....
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
I thought powerfeeding was when snake ate a mouse and u back another one down it's throat. Thanks for the advise 40 grams per feeding a total of 160 grams a month. :( smacking myself up side the head. Thanks for responding
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
Smaller meals more often on a 5 day schedule will keep him eating throughout the year better and more consistent.
Just limit it to 2 mice a week or a wean rat per week
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
Mr.s never heard of that one before. I will take richsballs advice and feed her 40 grams per feeding. Thanks

Never heard that before either - I fed mice exclusively to my entire collection before I started to breed - raised up babies to full adults on mice, never had the mice sitting in their throats...
I used to feed smaller meals, but I've gradually moved to larger meals for my kiddos, and still get consistently feeding critters.
Re: Have you heard or seen this before?
....... I seem to think I found it on this site.
I don't have the time right now, but I will take a look later and see if i can find it. (Don't want to be spreading fibs around here).
