and i saw a female BP that is 4350g and 60.5"
is that the normal size for all female BP's?:banana:
i'm not an expert but the sex does not make a difference on how friendly they are only on the price you pay for them. the size on the females depends on how often you feed them and how old they are.

i hear females go for more. Seeing as it would be a female pastel i would think a bit of a difference to make a difference?
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
The female you posted is a bigger girl but eventually they may get like that if they are fed correctly. BP's never stop growing.. They just slow down as they age. So generally you find females between 2-3k grams but the older girls are usually close to 4k grams. (My girl is 2.5k grams and 7 years old for example.)
In Canada, a good quality Male Pastel will run $200 maybe $250. A good quality female Pastel will be closer to $300-$350.
I'll be at the April 25th expo in Missisauga. Can't wait. :)

ah nice haha im going tomarrow so excited!!
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
In the states male pastel 75-100 female 125-150
If you wont breed just get a male
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
i was seeing late 09 females for 250. where did u see them for 150? i got my male for 150 shipped
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
Females, regardless of morph, will always be more then males.
If you're looking for a hatching female pastel, figure on paying 200+ the same quality male will go for about 150.
Also, bear in mind, that the older snakes get the MORE expensive they'll be.

not all females are more expensive then males. once you get to the 3 or 4 morph combos i think the males start to get more expensive because it does not take as long to get them to breeder size. i picked up a 2 year old male pastel for 80 bucks and he is a proven breeder. ive seen males start at 75 and up and females start at 150 and up. depending on their line and their color
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
4350g is a huge female... Most of them only get up to around 2000g. There are lots of exceptions to that though. Someone posted a video recently and one of the snakes in it was a 5500g female!
If I were you, I'd spend the extra and get a female. That way, if you decide to breed in say, a year or two, you can pick up a male and they'll both be up to size at the same time. But yeah, probably $300-350 is what you'll pay. I've seen people selling 2-3 year old female pastels for $600 -_- Stupid Canadian ball python market....

I got my male for $170 and I personally think hes a stunning example.
Is April 25th the next Mississauga expo? I'm not going to the one today but I'm definately going to the next one.
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
Yes, April 25th is the next Mississauga show. It'll be hard not to dip into my savings!
Re: ugh!! i cant decide!!!
Haha, I'll have enough trouble on the saving part. Teen + Money = Not a good combo. And I doubt I'll even be able to buy anything. I'll really be pushing it with another ball python or another snake for that matter. Possibly a gecko or two.

crested geckos or leos are both pretty cheap!
