    Feelin good
It is probably a bit weird but I am going to post about my new found freedom ( a lack of friends to share the good news with lead to this post). I am now a single woman after being imprisoned in a horrible relationship for 5 years! It is hard moving past the end of the relationship but in the end it truly feels good! I am not sure how the whole dating thing goes so this being single thing will probably last a bit. I am hoping to rekindle freidnships lost due to the relationship and control nature of it.

Well thats all... again I apologize for the crazy post.

Congrats. As Darkice said, don't waste it and don't hand it away to anyone who isn't going to treat you like you are precious, smart and wonderful.. It isn't worth it.

Congrats on having the strength to get out....it is a scary step sometimes. Every female deserves to be treated like a precious flower and every man like a king. I totally believe that and it is out there! I can attest to it!!

Use this time to take a look back on all of your past relationships and figure out what is broken with your picker. lol I know that sounds funny but sometimes we subconciously pick ppl that are not right for us. And it is likely that we repeat this. I did this for years....I picked guys who cheated....bottom line....I picked men that could not really comitt..hmmmm...that was something within myself. Not saying you are like me at all.....just something to take a look at. They say only when you are truly happy and content with yourself can you find true love. Let me tell you....it happened JUST LIKE THAT to me.

Get on your feet ....have fun with your friends....have fun with yourself and your life. Take this time to enjoy yourself!!

You really do deserve to be treated right and that person is out there and you will probably meet him in the weirdest of places. :gj:

If I lived near you...I would have to take you out for a celebratory girls nite out...:8:

Always keep in mind, a situation may seem bad, but it will always workout for the better.

Wow I really appreciate all the great replies.

I went out to a bar for the first time last night and I am almost 24! I had a few drinks which I haven't had anything to drink since I was 18. Needless to say I was a bit intoxicated when i got home last night... hence the post. I apologize for that. On a better note I am glad it turned out that people are there to support me!

He was a controlling type and a very angry person. I started rebelling at the end of the relationship and that's what ultimately ended it. So now I am doing what I want! And let me tell you... if feels awesome!

Congrats on your freedom! I was in a relationship with a very abusive man a few years back. I know what it is like to feel like a prisoner and feel trapped. I finally reclaimed my freedom and got out of that situation. I was single for a very long time after that. Now I am in a relationship with a very loving man and will be married to him at the end of the month.

Good for you Tina! It took me a half a century to learn that I am so much happier single. It's tough for a little while but having been free for several years now I would never be in another relationship, EVER. For the first time in my life I am happy.

lol... sorry, I fail. I am so used to it I guess. It will take some getting used to. My friends are giving me a makeover as well now. They said I need a complete fresh start.

And thank you for the nice comments!

I'm so proud of you, Tina. One of the hardest things I ever did was end my 5-year marriage with my ex, but we were both miserable and it was the right thing to do. Take it slow, don't jump right back into a relationship, and wait for the right guy. It shouldn't be hard; you're a cutie! :gj:

Once I move, I'll just be a couple hours away from you. Hit me up next time there's a reptile show or something, and we'll go for a girls' night out!

Do I sense a "Rate the newly single woman" thread happening!?!?! haha j/k

I would vote "hot" though for sure as I'm sure all of the guys here would :)

Good luck with the new found freedom. When I got out of my 4 year relationship it took me a good year, almost 2 years to be fully over it and ready to move on....but thats exactly what I did..I moved on and never looked back!!!

I just got out of a 13month relationship, it ended in August yet we kept talking to each other and talking about getting back together until about a month ago.
Never felt better and just in time for a new semester of school to start. Like you (from what you said in your first post), I don't have many friends to share the awesome news with. Love the girl to death but couldn't deal with it the way she acted anymore.

And you are a pretty good looking girl, shouldn't be hard for you to get back into the dating game once you start at it again. :)

Congrats. Just enjoy being single and doing everything you want to do. You shouldn't have to go out of your way not to upset someone, or start them off.
