    Adam at 8ball
Hey, I've been trying to get up with him for a few weeks. I've e-mailed and called but no response. I got this number from his website:301-922-4959. Do I have the right number? Does anyone else know of a way to contact him?

The only other thing I can think of is try PM'ing through his profile on this forum...

Adam is a man with a Plan.

He is as busy as bee in a hive. If you have emailed and called....be patient, that is some sort of virtue that you learn at some point LOL ( I havent learned it yet )

Tinley is comin up, so Im sure he is preppin for that.

I talked with him a couple weeks ago, he is very hard at work on the DC front as well as something else big. I am sure he will be on at some point and fill everyone in.
As for contacting him, I would just leave him a phone message. I know he checks it. And yes, you have the right number. (Trust me, his animals are worth the wait!)

Thanks, thats how we originally started talking, but he hasn't replied back in over a week. I'm not trying to blast him, I just wasn't sure if I had the right phone #. Thank you.

Something similar happened to me last summer. I was emailing back and forth with him about a possible purchase and then he stopped responding. It's possible that my emails just got lost in the shuffle, but I ended up giving up on it after about a month of no response.

I was really looking forward to acquiring another animal from him. My first experience buying from a breeder had been with him the previous summer and it had gone very well and I was very happy with my purchase. I guess thing just don't work out sometimes.

Email him if you need him. He's at the Tinley show so he may not get right back to you.
I assure you it's worth the wait to work with him.

Communication is everything when it comes to good business. I know people get busy and have other things going on. But one should at least shoot back an e-mail saying "I got your e-mail and your business is very important to me. I am very busy (doing whatever) and I will get back to you as soon as I can."

    Doesn't take long. ;)

Adam's customer service is top notch...he is working really hard behind the scences to assure your rights to be able to keep your animals. Give him a little time and when you do talk to him thank him for all he is doing for all of us!!

I admit I have never dealt with Adam, but from what I have seen of him here on this forum and some of his videos that I have watched, he appears to be a top notch guy who knows what he is doing. All I'm saying is that you have two people in this thread that have said they had trouble trying to make contact with him to do a business transaction. And It's not like they tried to call him on Friday and then got impatient on Monday. There are people that have never dealt with him, and don't know that he is out fighting the good fight. And it does not take long to set up a draft e-mail explaining why you are busy and then taking a second to reply to potential customers.

    Patience please.

In case you were unaware, in addition to making lovely snakes, Adam is also responsible for making thunder and lightning. That's a full time job folks.

    Worth waiting for.

You know a smart business owner would have someone they trust answering phone calls and emails if they are not able to. I don't care who you are, it is not good business practice to ignore customers for whatever reason. The president is a very busy man and at the very least you can get his secretary. I myself tried to contact Adam(numerous occasions) on a couple of animals that were listed on his site and recieved no calls or emails back. I had large sum of cash to spend to top it off. To be completely honest, I'll never call him back either. It won't hurt his sales I'm sure but will save me the hastle of trying to get a hold of him if things go wrong. This is my personal opinion and my personal experience. For those of you who have had great experiences, I'm happy for you. Mine has not been pleasant.

I'm pretty sure I have an idea he is working on. Still deosn't warrant not calling your customers back.

For the record my statements aren't assumptions. I did not assume I called him, nor am I assuming he should have somebody answering his phone calls if he is not going do it himself. I sell products on a daily basis, regardless of what is going on I answer the phone. If I'm busy I will take a message or return calls from my voicemail. Why advertise inquire on a product if you are not willing to answer the inquiries? I'm just saying.

Ok, I get what you are saying. However, most of us here know Adam and know him pretty well. We know from first hand experience that his not returning calls is NOT the norm. We have explained what we know, how we know it etc. If you want to cross off one of the hands down best guys in this business due to your experiences, do so. I for one will not, based on MY experience as well as dozens of others. God forbid you have a great reputation and something happens where someone doesn't think you are fast enough and they post about your poor service skills.

I know from the horses mouth what is going on, and I am so very thankful to people like Adam. Words cannot express how much I appreciate him. For his taking time to talk to me, walk me though worries, discuss different view points, working on his projects and just being a friend. I am blessed to have someone like him who I can turn to.

Also, as a business owner myself, I cannot say that there haven't been times where I haven't been as prompt as I should have been. My loyal clients understand LIFE HAPPENS SOMETIMES! Sometimes, you have to decide what is the most important thing at that time. It is a balancing act and I for one WILL NOT FAULT someone who is 99% of the time the best in the business for customer service.

Adam is probably one of the busiest people i know. Every time i talk to him he's got another 3 projects going on, in addition to 15 other things.

Toss him another PM and he'll most likely get back to you after Tinley if he's there. Its a big show weekend, i'm sure he'll get back to you if he sees new mail/pm/whatever from you.

    Re: Adam at 8ball
I have read many stories of Adam selling some excellent animals and some great customer service stories also. I'm sure he is an excellent guy! I figured that I would share my experiences with the OP who is also having a difficult time getting a hold of him. If I were at a show and seen Adam there, I might buy something from him. I just hate playing phone tag(I don't mind playing it actually as long as I have an opponent). I also am grateful for all the behind the scenes work that some of the big breeders are doing when it comes to all this legislation. My hat is off to them.:gj:

Just thought I'd chime in here. Just because your experience has been positive does not mean everyone else's has been. No one is perfect and surprisingly... Adam is not a God. *shocked face!*

Twisted Tails did not have a positive experience with Adam and neither have I. Does that make us wrong somehow? No it doesn't. It means that our experience was not like yours. Period.

So give TT a break here... they are simply sharing and isn't this forum what that's all about? Cause the "Adam can do no wrong simply because he's Adam" mentality that many here have doesn't mean it's the truth. It could be... perhaps... that those of us who have a negative experience with him don't share it because of this mentality.

Which I personally think is kinda sad. Heaven forbid anyone talk negative about Adam...

In no shape or form do I think Adam (or anyone else for that matter!) is a god. And lord knows I sure as hell don't follow what the so often referred to as the clique here preaches. I do however give people the benefit of the doubt when they have proven to me over and over again how much of an asset they are, especially during a major show time.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Adam- happens to everyone at some point. As you said, no one is perfect.

I was kind of curious to how so many people could make excuses for unexcusable business practices.

I'd be willing to bet that for every one person who had a negative experience with Adam that there are 30 with a positive one. Nobody is perfect, but I can personally say that his customer service left absolutely nothing to be desired in my experiences.
Personally he's always at the top of my list when I'm looking for something new. That's not sucking up or drinking the Kool Aid or thinking Adam is God. That's just supporting a great breeder who has always been there for me even well before he ever saw a single $ from me.

Wow, I didn't know this thread was still going on. I have since gotten back in touch w/ Adam from 8 ball. He's a great guy and I look forward to doing business with him. I can be patient :) I just wasn't sure if he had changed phone numbers or anything.
