High White Spider?
Okay so I'm thinking of buying a cheap High White Spider and I don't really like High Whites but the price is just great. Anyway is there a morph that I could breed this Spider Male to, to get low white Spiders. Is this even Possible. By the way he is 1000g just in case anyone would want to know;)

Re: High White Spider?
Why buy an animal you don't like just to save a few bucks? Spend the extra and get an animal you find is of amazing quality.
But if you just want a cheap snake to breed, then so be it. :)

Umm how bout 100 for a male adult Spider? Would you pass that? I have been told this guy does not need to work with the Spider morph no more.

Re: High White Spider?
Yes, why not just buy what you want instead of buying because it's cheap? Golly, it might cost you the same if you shop around.
Oh, but you're the expert.

Re: High White Spider?
The word cheap when used to describe a living creatures pisses me off to no end. People will never get it.

Yes I would if it was not what I like or what I was looking for.
Why buy something you are not into?
-
Re: High White Spider?
I am just wondering if there is a morph that I could breed this Spider to that would make a good looking Animals. Thats all!
Daniel

Re: High White Spider?
Also there are some breeders that do not like a morph with certain aspects on them but do like what that morph can make.
Daniel

Re: High White Spider?
Seeing as you're going to have to care for and clean up after an animal that you don't personally like, I'd pass.
If an animal doesn't wow me, it doesn't matter how affordable (I also hate the word cheap to describe these animals - it cheapens the animal) it is, I will pass until the PERFECT animal to my eyes is available, even IF I have to pay more for it.
As to your question, it's a crap shoot.

Re: High White Spider?
I guess I'll wait for one thats just right. I like high white Bumblebees though and only have a low white Spider. Should I get it breed it and sell it or is there not a point of doing such thing? Is that a dumb idea?
Daniel
-
Re: High White Spider?
What's the point of that? Buy something you like, breed it, then keep it to produce more of what you like... Seems logical to me..

Ummm.... Did you not get me in a recent post? I said "I don't like High White Spiders but I do like High White BumbleBees" I think it's a plan that would work. Keep it and then breed it and then sell it. Also can you guys please read the first post once again. Why does this happen to some post? Where people like me ask a question and it turns into a war after ten posts.

Re: High White Spider?

Really, only you can answer that for yourself and how that fits into your business plan.
I'd use a high white spider when breeding for high white bumblebees. What you do with that male after that is a decision only you can make for yourself.
You might find out that you like high white after all.
I used to be a low white fan, but I've now become more of a high white fan, now that I have both in my collection.
And for me, it's not just about the white, but also the pattern, the symmetry of the head pattern, etc.
-
Re: High White Spider?
One thing to keep in mind.. the amount of white a spider has varys. High white parents can throw low white off spring and low white can produce high white.

Thanks for the post,
I just got picks of the Spider and his so called High whites are not really high there are somewhere in the middle. I like middle so whites there nice.
Heres the pic.
Also forgot to mention he is a proven breeder.

Re: High White Spider?
Hi,
Have you asked him why he is choosing to sell a 1000g spider for $100?
Because it is the first thing that I wondered. :weirdface
It might be fine (obviously ) I just would have expected it to sell for more as a proven breeder male.

Umm... I already said that. The reason is, is because he does not need the Spider morph no more in his projects and plans on expanding to something else. Also he is selling it for 100 because he is having a hard time selling it which I find weird for a proven spider.

Re: High White Spider?
Hi,
I think I can answer the question in your first post below for you. :)
In this specific case it is because you do not include the qualifying information that lets people fully understand your thinking in the first post but do include all the words, concepts and phrases that throw up major red flags to people who have seen similar sentiments expressed before and watched it turn into a horrible, horrible situation.
I will underline all the things that should have been in the first post and bold all the words or phrases that really, really shouldn't ( or be phrased differently ) if you want to avoid these reactions;

This mismatch of info and phrases gave the impression you wanted to buy it only because it was cheap with no regard for the animal itself and we have seen people do similar things in the past that didn't turn out so well for the snake. :(
The snake involved is really low priced for its size and breeding status which makes most people who have been around a bit longer deeply suspicious until they have asked questions and been reassured everything is on the up and up. The fact you were unaware of the randomness of the white makes me wonder how aware you are of the wobble issue and the possible damage that can be caused by over breeding - all questions you would really want to ask before buying a breeding size spider at the end of a breeding season just as a matter of course. ( well I would being a belt and braces kind of guy  ).
When coupled to your thread about buying wild caught snakes in bulk to re-sell not that long ago sends shivers up a lot of spines as it suggests you really might be looking at this hobby/ industry from the wrong perspective.
We do not know you and can only judge your intent and character by what you post on the forum - and since that is text based it is not always plain what someone really meant to say compared to the way you read it with no other clues.
Enthusiasm and dreams can easily come across as inconsistancy and money-hunger without the rest of the clues people get when talking face to face. This then taints everything else written afterwards and can give a totally false impression of someones character.
When you make a post re-read it to yourself and see if you can imagine anyone asking questions or taking offense then change the post to answer and avoid that happening. It will take you a bit longer to post a thread - but it does mean the thread has more of a chance of going in the direction you intended instead of getting sidetracked and not giving you the information you need.
Sorry, I didn't mean to type a novel at you but it was a complicated question and I thought it deserved an answer as accurate as I know how to give.

You should read his post a little more carfully. He said to buy something you like, keep it and breed it. Don't assume others didnt read your posts when you don't read others.
As far as what you could breed him to and make something cool. Any you breed him to could be cool, just depends on what you consider cool. Buy morphs you like and produce animals you like.
I think your decision to wait is a good one. Just think, you buy an animal for cheap, your gonna sell the offspring it produces for cheap. Better examples make better looking animals.

I did read that but felt it odd when coupled to a picture of it breeding a normal which would produce more spiders so figured I would ask and see if he had given you any more information.

Yes - we find it wierd too. There may be many legitimate reasons for that but it is always wise to start cautious and be reassured later. :)

I understand and yes I do think I should reword sometimes. Also I did not want to resell the wild caught snakes I had not intentions doing so. I would sell the babies but not the WC.

Okay. I said I liked it when I saw the picture. The guy said it was a complete high white but after seeing the Picture it was not what he said it was. Also thanks for your opinion.

Re: High White Spider?
not to offend anyone, but what really bothers me is there is more and more ppl who have a site and name to sell reptiles and yet they are constantly asking basic questions and have maybe 5 animals if that. sure we all have to start somewhere, but there is breeders that dont have a site that have been in this business for alot longer than this forum has even been here.
-
Re: High White Spider?
Be careful buying an animal of that Morph for that low of a price. I saw a Male Pinstripe at a recent show they had him marked for $225 this animal was well on his way pushing at least 700g. Anyway my buddy runs a shop and knew the guy and asked him why he was at such a reduced price? His response was his hemipenes were messed up and he couldn't breed, other than that he was fine.

Re: High White Spider?
simpson i'm kinda on your side on this one.. only cause i've asked one simple question in past posts and guys go and like re-plan my whole breeding idea...
all the guy asked for was some idea's on what would be a good morph to breed to his snake.. so all you should say is Pastel, Spider, Bee, etc, etc, etc... not bash the guy cause he doesn't like the pattern!.. geeeeez
i would take any kind of snake in if someone was practically giving it away like in this case.. the guy just wanted some idea's, so he could see if it IS WORTH it too breed him or not..
