That statement is NOT TRUE!!! Life is terminal- that's all. It's what you make of every moment that defines one's life. The dreams you dream; the dreams that you can turn into reality; the happiness and laughter and tears and loss: all a part of life. NONE of this sucks.

What is so sad is a tragic loss of life. Why we are saddened so much by it is because we can't explain it in our mind and so we are left only feeling it. And only feeling something, without the distractions of our logic, is very powerful.

Ben's situation has been very powerful for all of us. It is a deep feeling. Our collective mind has no explanation for it; no rationale.

    But life does not suck.

I agree. This may be part of life, but it is an experience.

He was your favorite, the animal that got you started with bps. You know, as well as all of us know, that he was in good hands throughout his entire life. He didn't just live a wonderful life, but he thrived under a wonderful person. You did the right thing, and he's no longer suffering or in pain, whether or not he's in a better place I guess is up to your beliefs, but whatever it is, there's no more pain.
You had every right to do it yourself and say goodbye. Your a great person, Ben. You loved him, and you said goodbye. Theres nothing wrong with that.

Oh wow, on top of being completely heart broken, I'd be furious at my roommate had this happened to me. And I'd also feel very violated, as there obviously was uninvited guests in your personal space. Even if nothing had went wrong, someone in YOUR room w/o your knowledge is just completely wrong and inconsiderate! Even if it wasn't your roommate who did this, it was his responsibility to keep an eye on his company.

I'm truly sorry this happened to your little guy, at least he's not suffering anymore. I wish you comfort in your time of sorrow (((hugs)))

I just saw this thread. This is just a horrible tragedy. I'm really sorry that you had to go through this and even more so that the snake went through whatever happened at the hands of some drunk.

But you did the right thing, and now is the time of grieving. And you have this community right beside you in that.
